I thought the purpose of this thread was convincing chill to build a 350+bhp monster?!Each to their own, but a bog stock supercharged 2.0 B207 with some std LSJ cams in feels really nice in a VX.
That's easy then; buy a Saab, lift the head, port the exhaust, fit some springs & SC cams and put it all together with a Harrop and a decent exhaust. 350HP is much easier above 7500rpm.

Don't forget pistons and rods.
I think the dutch are going to do some piston stress testing of their own.....
Z22SE = L61
B207 = LSJ
All this destructive testing to spit out those numbers was done with NOS.

So fingers crossed for the harrop on stock b207, with a reasonably pully on, pushing for 330isch with 400nm torque and hope for the best.

Well, if the US guys can sustain 350-370 whp on their supercharged LSJ's, 330-350BHP should last a while in a light VX. As long as you keep the charge cool, as that will be more of your problem.

No, B207 has a 23mm wristpin. (and forged rods) The Z22SE a 20mm.
Pistons are the weak link, being silent OEM hypereutectic stuff, but still much thougher build (ringlands) than the Z22SE's. With good tuning (no knock) they should last a while.

Are we saying the internals on the B207el are the lsj internals
GM-USA simply took a 2.0 Saab engine, binned the turbo gubbins and bolted the SC stuff on. (ok, some minor tweaks for M8 mani bolts and SC cams.)
Only I cannot find the diference between B207 E/L & R pistons, but lets assume the LSJ used the more expensive R-type pistons.

A quick google search on most places confirms that E/L/R internals are the same, and only the bolt on stuff differs.

Does only say they appear to be the same
I know. A few more sites mentioned the same. Was just one example.

Yes I think the el version may use the latter pistons and rods which are similar to the z22se (L61/le5) This is all irrevelant to me because I'm changing mine to a 2.2 crank forged pistons rods With no external trigger.
E/L has same forged rods (and crank) as the R version. There are 2 different B207 piston/ring part types listed, but I'm told that the later engines all got the same R internals.
But that's all irrelevant to you anyway...
