I think I am in but will hold out until nearer the deadline as last time I had a rush of blood like this I bought another VX.

So I will wait until I have gone a bit flaccid and make a calm decision.

Any info where external trigger unit can be got ?

Rumour has it Welshiejon can make them. Was thinking if there's enough people interested we could try some sort of group buy.

Otherwise Hi-tec in Germany according to others on here. Might be more expensive though.

Hey Hello. I will own a b207 soon and i do not have an idea to solve the trigger wheel problem. But we should not forget about the fact, that we do not need only the right trigger wheel ( easy ). We need the exaxt position on the pulley and the exact position of the sensor.

That was speedster4fun (dutch, and exmantaa's mate), and his was a C20LET (iirc).  But myself i am going for the harrop route on a stock B207R, with just some decent cams and a ported head. Let's see what happens. chinky chinky

Def a Saab motor, he was running HP Tuners.

C20LET bottom, B207 head and LSJ ecu. HP Tuners on top.

On the C20 last 3 characters i'm not 100% sure.

A C20xx bottom end mates to a B207 head?! They are more than a genreation apart as far as engine designs go, no? I'm pretty such Exmantaa mentioned him, and he's running a complete standard B207 block with a Harrop SC unit..

I'll doublecheck on the C20 part.

edit; ok my mistake.

Bottom is Z20NET, and top either LSJ or saab.

All the same..

With the open questions on exact internal strengths in each, and how far they have been pushed to find point break.

I've asked for some information from some Saab people to help determine the need for an R or not - hopefully someone on here will be able to advise what it all means?

Vocky :poke:

Have a look at this link http://www.uksaabs.c...189145#p1189145

A kind man called Will has posted some details from a workshop manual with details about the L/E/R pistons.

Hopefully someone here can help clarify his findings?

Interested in seeing what the neo racer guy says.

When in the saabs, the engines had this performance:

B207E = 150 hp/240nm(177 lbft) 1.8T B207L = 175 hp/265nm(195 lbft) 2.0T B207R = 205 hp/300nm(221 lbft) 2.0T Aero

So the R will be streched by 150 horsies, but "only" 100nm.

The 300/315 horsies breakpoint can be found a lot online, but never with decent explanation, so could be hearsay.

The stock B207R has the same enginespecs as the stock lsj, and the USA guys easily go towards the 400 on stock lsj engine.

ABSOLOUTLY AMAZING! Cheers mate, cant thank you enough   Does anyone know how much a brand new 2.2 crank and bits you need from the z22se costs? (thinking of donaring my engine into something else)

When I contacted vauxhall last year it was 4500 and you got 1200 back when they had your back

More stuff that might help people

http://www.gmsportco...s/gmscbuild.pdf

And I do have a feeling that the pistons in the E/L will be the same as those in the R - It certainly wasn't unusual for Saab to overspec stuff when building their cars (look at the B204/234 engines which can handle 450bhp+ on stock internals)

the only way to really tell which pistons are fitted would be to have a look inside the engine, normally they use whatever parts they have on the shelf to build stuff, so I'm sure if they ran out of the better pistons they would use the other versions and vice-versa

I found quite a few remarks on various saab fora saying that is no longer the case with newer engines.
