Yay I've done it! Turns out I was speaking to Mr Neo himself. :)

To confirm, the engines we are supplying are the latest version of B207 engine with BIOPOWER classed as a U20NER engine (the engine can run on any mixutre of E85 fuel and 95 ron fuel, when using E85 bioethanol fuel, car can produce around 15% more power). I have attached images of the ACTUAL engine, with the reference stickers on the engines. I have also taken a photo of the exhaust manifold. The main internals such as cams & pistons will be the same as a B207R engine and this can be seen below:

FYI stu, there's lots of mr neos - family business. Nick neo, demos neo, Andy neo etc. Regardless, that is great info and just what we (all) wanted to hear. So looks like I'm saving, HARD. Car might have to wait another month...

Collection is possible or delivery to a UK address (excluding Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales) at £54

So not a UK address, only English ones

It's was Nick Neo. Claws, buy an engine or GTFO. European shipping can be made and cost wouldn't be more than £80. Address details would need to be given for an exact figure.

Would be interested in what vocky makes of the specs of the engine, And is it worth changing the internals and converting to 2.2.

if Exmantaa is happy with the spec then so am I, he is the Euro version of me ;)

As for staying a 2.0, that all depends on what you want and the availability of the external trigger wheel parts

You will lose some torque by lowering the cc of the engine, it will however rev much better than a 2.2.

I suppose it depends how much bhp you want, I would expect the 2.0 will have to rev to 8000 rpm to deliver similar power to a 2.2 revving at 7500

I'm only after maxing out the M62 charger, Was hoping for more than 300bhp and would be happy if I could get close to 320bhp

Will the forged pistons and rods ( 2.2 ) stop us using biofuel ?

Without the harrop i think this engine will be comparable to others chasing horsies on stage III with the Z22SE and M62.

and if you're worried about losing torque put a smaller pulley on, rods/pistons aren't the limiting factor like with a stock Z22SE.

Just a question, Please don't shoot me down. But would it be possible to change the crank z22se and keep the pistons and rods from engine

Good question.

Crank no, just crank trigger; hopefully.

One of exmantaa's B207's Plan A conversions will be getting just the crank trigger from the Z22SE, in order to keep the system internal.

Not sure when he will crack open the engine to start the investigation, but he has the B207 in his garage as we speak.

On the lsj the trigger is just a bolt on part.:

On the B207 and Z22SE i dunno. Maybe vocky can answer.

(though the B207 trigger vocky send over, looked pretty similar to the lsj)

the z22se does not have a separate crank trigger wheel, it is part of the crank

Atom x had designed a z22se version to fit the saab 2.0 crank and had one made. But he has vanished and no one knows where he is these days, last I heard he was in China

So it seems :(

Would wonder how much it costs to replicate the Z22se pattern into an aftermarket B207 bolt-on trigger ring.

If this works, there would be many future swappers needing it.

Yeah, that is the cunning plan...

But don't forget you have to disassemble your new engine to remove this wheel. And assembly needs new stretch bolts everywhere. External triggerwheel is less cunning, but much easier.

I really don't see the point in transferring the 2.2 crank over the only thing you will usefully gain is the piston cooling jets and sodium valves but neither have proved to be a weak point of the Z22SE. The main advantage of the saab engine is the internals that are much stronger and made of OEM spec materials, yes the GM book says change the pistons at 300 bhp but that number wasn't found by failures on supercharged engines it was found using nitrous. It found you should change the rods on the Z22SE at 250bhp and the SC cars are putting more like 300 bhp thought the rods without failure.
