The least you could do it stick on an saab forum, and see what happens.

Or keep hold of it for the day we finally give up on the existing LSJ inlet manifold and come up with a better cooling solution that will inevitably need it.

!!UPDATE!!

Good condition, working order starter motor £24.

All invoices will have the engine code printed and your name tagged to that engine. This will cover you on Techie's point about DVLA requirments.

That's a very sweet deal.

Any chance on new ones?

Am I right in thinking this is essentially the same engine as the Z20LET?  Apologies if im way off the mark!

No. Totally different engine. It's essentially a smaller capacity Z22SE or more accurately a Z20NET in Vauxhall speak. Despite the similarity in nomenclature, it's no way near similar.

Just as a matter of interest and to get the turbot boys going what is the relative weight of this engine compared to the z22se?

There should be very little difference in the weight as they are similar design using the same materials. I suspect the Saab engine might weigh slightly more as it's a proper sand cast unit rather than lost foam, which should create a more solid and therefore denser casting.

But it also uses a crank with less counterweighting, so lighter. I guess many will also remove the balancer shafts and add a lightened flywheel, so there's another potential 5-7kg reduction.

Stu,

If they will extend the deal a little then I'm definitely in too. I might be able to make it this month, but it'll depend on some invoices being paid on time.
