!!UPDATE!!

Good condition, working order starter motor £24.

All invoices will have the engine code printed and your name tagged to that engine. This will cover you on Techie's point about DVLA requirments.

That's a very sweet deal.

Any chance on new ones?

Is this an option, getting a new starter motor or go with reconning the existing one - will it fit the 207?

Yes, old ones are fully compliant.

Only reason i asked is that my z22se one has done many miles, and i don´t like putting old stuff into a brand new engine.

Stu don't suppose you found out the answer to techies question did you (no rush to be fair). And smiley I'll be happy with anything between 280 and 300bhp I think. Seems like a potential cost/reliability sweet spot. G

280 HP is easy with the Saab. =>

Standard B207 engine, fit some stock LSJ supercharger cams (or re-time the B207R turbo cams), mount the supercharger kit with a 3.1 pulley and tune the ecu for VXR, #42 or #50 injectors.

I got 282HP with the restrictive cast 2,2 exh. manifold mounted and not fully optimised tune.

Choose your upgrades from there...

If this was Facebook I'd like this post very much

My plan, well the seed planted by Vocky, was for Comp cams also and I already have Tullet 4-1 manifold.

the Saab pistons in this engine I'm stripping down are made by MAHLE, not sure if that means anything ?

Exmantaa might know if they are any good :poke:

MAHLE are a standard OEM supplier, they'll be in 90 % of all standard engines

they don't look that 'special', will get some pics up over the weekend

The little end bearings do look quite fancy, will try and get a pic of them

So Z22SE valves are good for the same power the Saab pistons will go to, which has been well over 300bhp based on our continental friends...

Can you check for the casting code inside the piston?

Should be a 5 or 7 digit code consisting of numbers and in the middle a letter.

And that's from the new Saab B207 engine?

I have a Z20NET (=B207L=LSJ)  piston in front of me with exactly the same codes except for the FO71 which is FO61 for my piston.

Probably means no difference's between the Z20NET,B207L or the B207R pistons

Are the codes on the oem LSJ pistons known?

from a older post:

In the inside of every MAHLE - Piston you can find a casting number. This number consists out of two numbers, then a letter and again two numbers. From the letter you can find out of what kind the piston is: D... Duotherm piston F... Squeeze-cast piston KB... Ferrotherm piston L... Solid skirt piston P... Forged piston V... Auto-/Hydrothermik piston/ Auto-/Hydrothermatik piston For example: A piston with the casting number 96 P 26 would be a forged piston.

This not the easiest of conversions if you have a M32 gear box. :drink:

That is what we had to do. Turbo rear wishbone , Clutch conversion .
