it can, but you need z22se cams or cut down the LSJ cam, then make one of these and modify the bearing housing

Is that a one off i'm looking at, or avaialble somewhere, or will they be machined by someone?

and the coilpack like this (the amplifier is missing but you get the idea), you also need to extend the springs inside the coilpack extensions by approx 10mm

As in streching out the existing a bit, or replace with 10mm longer ones?

That's a Vocky item. He had to justify buying his lathe somehow. :D

I stretched mine. That was about as far as I went down that route before getting distracted by a full-on LSJ conversion.

I think you'll be making quite a few kits Neil!

And yes Matt, you really should do this Saab engine conversion. You first, I'll follow...

Just been out for a swift VX lunch with VIX and Nick and am now having (hopefully only a momentary) pang of guilt about not doing anything with the car for a year. Maybe I should have a "kit" just in case. It can go with the LSJ loom, LSJ ECU, ZZP cams, ZZP valve springs, retainers, seals, flywheel, etc in the goodies box. Probably only need to modify this cover plate for the coil pack and the Saab oil cooler delete setup (I'd definitely rather keep the proper cooler) though maybe use a more friendly hose setup. I've already got the genuine LSJ cam sensor/vacuum pump for the exhaust cam and guess that prevents the need to block off the oilway, whether I go LSJ/HPT or OBDTuner? Just need to decide one way or another on the HPT or OBDTuner as that governs the trigger wheel and external sensor question (and sourcing of those two). :beat:

Just rip off Joe's HPtuners and ecu. :ninja:  He apparently doesn't seem to use it soon...

all running around with the same chassis number in the ecu then?

In hindsight, holding out to see how Joe got on, may have been a mistake. His lack of interest multiplied by my lack of inertia makes for a glacial pace of progress. :beat:

I would just like to say a quick thank you to Neo's for sorting out a tiny niggle with the recent six engines collection by Arcticmonkey  chinky chinky

to stop you all wondering ..... a starter motor and a tensioner were purchased seperately to the engine purchases on the day of collection, which caused a little confusion and the end result was a missing starter motor and belt tensioner, which have now arrived. So all sorted  :D

some progress with the cover.... Holes for the bolts are still to be drilled and a proper fixation for the coil pack will be glued on the bottem side of the plate.

The Z22SE coilpack has a clever steel plate to ground the coilpack amplifier via one of the cover fixing bolts. Carbon is conductive, but I'll probably install a tiny ground cable, just in case of.    ;)

thx Wreelybro.  I always disliked the rocker cover of the Z22SE, so going slightly mad now that there's a different one.

'2.0 SuperCharged' logo is still to come...   B)  its maybe over the top ..

Will glue threaded bushes to the carbon plate for the connection of the coil pack.

(DXF file is available for the outlines of the cover plate if you want it CNC cut from any material. Just send a PM with e-adress, I'll be happy to send the file)

a few pics of one of the engines

Checked the codes on top of the pistons with the ones on the Dutch delivered engines. They're identical.

The tiny exhaust gap might be benificial to give exhaust fumes speed to spin up a turbo, but a super charged engine could do without restrictions :

Removed 80 valves this evening, five cilinder heads are ready to be machined.  Dutch powerrrrrr!   :D

Which comp cams will you use? Are these from ZZPerformamce? Christian.

What you see on that pic are ZZP stage 2 cams for the 2.0 LSJ.

Still undecided what will be used on the engine(s). We can choose from some original LSJ cams, those ZZP LSJ Stage 2's or some Comp NA's timed for SC (milder exhaust cam than the original Comp blower cams), but it also depends on what SC is used. (M62 or Harrop)

I also have a faulty set ZZP St 2 cams that I can exchange or change out for a set ZZP Stage 1 cams, depending how the Stage 2 behave in the 2.0 engine.

Will see. Enough to keep us busy during the winter. B)

Owww, also have a set of new GMR LSJ cams lying around. Apparently very good for power, but these need lifter modification.
