I will say this, the liners were in perfect condition. Not bad for a 90k mile engine. GM know how to make them.

Give them a call. I got mine at the original price

Will do first thing Monday morning. How recently did you buy yours & did they deliver or you collect?

ha, too early for that. the car's been dumped at my parents since July without an engine. New one should be going in when I can buy a tasty exhaust in April

Old engine:

But it did die overtaking a lambo, so I have no regrets.

What was the cause of the engines death?

Josh..

What you doing with your b207

Well I just wanted to do a basic build - cams, light porting on the head and basically fit. But reading on the B207 build thread; whilst its out and easily accessible there are a whole host of other things i'd like to do - so I guess it depends on fundage and when the engine would be needed. I'd like to have do the balancer delete, some double valve springs and get everything balanced so I can have a high rev limit (suits my style of driving and still addicted coming from a Honda background), so i'll have to wait and see.

Does the B207 take the F23 box and same exhaust manifold as the Z22?

Josh..

i bought mine a while ago (2014), but it was a long time afterwards and they recently announced they would be doing the group buy pricing again.

They deliver. I think delivery adds around £30. Engine death is described above.

Is this a good base for a 200hp NA?

Considering my engine (2.2) now has covered 74000miles and would probably like some new belts and all that boring stuff, am I better of with this?

Potentially yes, although the static compression ratio for this engine will be too low (9.5:1) for a NA engine build.

You might be better looking to rebuild with Z22YH (higher compression NA 2.2 engine) internals. It might be more economic to buy one of these new B207 engines and change the crank / rods / pistons then you have a new block / oil / water pumps / chains, and a better cylinder head for modification / porting, plus nicer things like piston oil squirters..

Speak to Vocky basically

If it hepls I can stash one for a few weeks for you.  I'm not sure what shipping is like so thought it might help.

These are perfect for an engine build, either fit a z22se crank, z22yh rods + pistons and some cams for a great NA build or 8.9:1 wiseco pistons, eagle steel rods and some ZZP cams for a 300+bhp SC build.

A few people have even kept them 2.0 and fitted an external trigger wheel + some cams for a sub 300bhp SC build

A 2.0 with iTBs?

you would need some custom 2.0 pistons with 11:1 CR, about £700

some used z22yh rods and pistons are £100  :P

Higher rpm possible with 2.0? Need to squeeze every last bhp out of it :ninja:

I'm debating if I really need a spare engine or not. Seems good value for a engine.
