Do you mean that I can do it myself this mod? Are you not interested developing that improvement? I wouldn't remove the footwell plastic covers, it would enter much heat through those holes all the time... If I'm going to do it myself probably I would simplify the job and renounce to recirc function. The thing I really need is the closing function.that is possible. You would need to block the vent from the crash box into the heater compartment and remove the plastic covers over the vents in the footwell. You can't do this with the OEM unit as it mates directly with the vent into the crash box. It's possible to add some type of ducting close flap? Something similar to air recirculation function to avoid the continuous breathing of toxic diesel emissions. I would buy you immediately one of your heaters if they incorporated this extra feature. For me the most important. (Spanish roads are infested with rednecks with their carcinogenic diesel cars, I hate them!!)

There isn't enough space to add this functionality.

Really? And with the parts number 1 and 4 with some modifications? There isn't enough space to add this functionality.

Do you think that I don't know??? First of all there is no car 100% hermeticaly sealed and their recirculation function works perfectly. I know that our cars cabin is very bad sealed and for that reason I've been improving my speedy with many foam and active carbon filter inserts in some areas. The next step is the air duct closing flap that I have mentioned. Really do you say that is an impossible improve in these cars? To ensure that first you have to do a test...Given the VX isn't exactly hermetically sealed, you're on a loser before you even start.

One heater boxed and ready to go. Won't be able to do any more until Feb at the earliest after that one.

Three left, and that's probably all i'm doing for a while. It's becoming difficult to source some parts.

is there any maintenance needed on the fan bearings , turned mine on the other days and it seemed a bit noisy at low speed at first

Steve, the bearings are sealed so shouldn't require any maintenance, however i've heard of two people complain of noise which has since gone, we suspected debris at the time. If it keeps up let me know and I can replace.
Paul, I need to concentrate on headlights so need some downtime from heater production. If there's enough demand in the future I may be able to make more but will probably involve a redesign as some components I use at the moment are becoming difficult and expensive to source.

I am just wondering if I can get to the fan either get a hand in through exit vent , to maybe run a bit of light oil by the gap of the valve and the battery. I will have a look at the weekend. Its almost certainly just winter driving crap just got in there.Steve, the bearings are sealed so shouldn't require any maintenance, however i've heard of two people complain of noise which has since gone, we suspected debris at the time. Think you'd struggle to get to the motor but you should be able to spray WD40 indiscriminately and get some in the right place.

I did over 200 miles with the roof off the week end and the fan turned up to full. Toasty warm.
I have a foul cold now though but i don't think i can blame the heater
