I've seen a few issues here with CV boots recently.  The man at lotus says they are the same as the europa.

Outboard £21.10

Inboard    £48.38 (no stock at Lotus)

Hope that helps some of you guys out.  Group buy would attract a 12% discount I believe!

I will kiss you if you can get these in stock for £48.38. With or without 12% off.

And I mean that in a manly, hetro kind of way.

If there's no stock of the inboard at Lotus, or at Vauxhall, it's likely the same supplier.

There cant be many CV boot manufacturers.... surely someone could track them down and get A.N Other to 'replicate' the inners and outers.

Probably, but for them to commit to that moulding and so on you're looking at a minimum run of a few thousand

Pinning your hopes on the long term availability of Europa spares (from Lotus anyway) seems like a risky strategy, given they only sold a handful and have already stopped making some parts for it.

how about a job from Alibabaand get the far east to help... yes still a few K units but if you can get them sub £20 each for example then its going to be well worth it.

Do the universal boots fail because of fit or construction? If it's the former then that might be an option.

That GM part number is where lotus get there supplies for the europa.  Its common to several vauxhalls so I dont see it being unavailable for that long.  GM supply lotus for £25 + vat so shouldn't be too dear either.

:yeahthat:  Once the cars that run the same cv are identified, we can target local vauxhall and opel garages for it.

And if it´s one of those mass produced astra´s, there probably allready are chinese replica´s available on the bay.

the outer cv gaitor is the same, but I do not believe the inner CV gaitor is.

I remember comparing them when I changed to the M32 gearbox and they looked totally different
