Cracking!
3 pages and we are no nearer to CV gaiters that fit, but we're richer to the tune of a couple of fat-greasy nob innuendos.

Sure we are. The same as we were 4 years ago, if somebody wants to give it a try

I will visit the Honda/Kia showroom this weekend... see what transpires.
Quote I from your thread of many years ago:
Dont know if its any help but had a look on our parts system this morning... 9197858 is the GM number - not the same as any other GM boot kit. Aftermarket wise you will need a Quinton Hazell part number QJB1033 or equivalent. If it helps its also the same as a Honda NSX (42017-SL0-000) or a Kia Sedona (0 K55 22 2540). Sadly we dont keep them in stock.... If you are after a universal one the sizes needed are 25mm shaft size, 87mm joint size with an overall length of 96mm.
I wonder if Techie will still be as grumpy 4 years from now?.... hmmmm..
Good luck with your search! Kevin

I have spent the time sizing up the boots and have non-OE alternatives that fit really well. The OE outer is hard plastic and fails very quickly on the race car so I use the rubber boots... Much better IMHO. If people want some I can get some in stock?

Is that the same cv for both sides?a quick google reveals the astra GSI z20let inner cv gaitor part number is 9201993
http://www.ebay.co.u...3-/121016443956
yes, the vx220 uses the same cv joint both sides, the astra only on one side as it has equal length driveshafts so uses different inner cv's

I'm in the same boat.....why isn't anybody considering the Astra drive shafts suggested by Smiley?!?
People think the dutch guy is lying through his teeth, and wants to kill everybody.
I went to collect a supposed Astra shaft last night, http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 to save you clicking through, described as Astra H CDTi near side. It bore passing resemblance, but the inner splines were a different pitch (?) and the oil scroll ran in the opposite direction.
Was it not as described?
My current shaft has gaitors supplied by Liam, they appear to be good.

Yes, that is what i have running for exactly a year now.
Let me verify with the germans for peace of mind.

The partnumber 13124675 for the astra H 1.7 cdti mark 5 shaft is listed to be used on an F23.

This shaft has been used by the germans since 2010 now.
Astra H 1.7 cdti mark 5 100bhp
Engine types Z17DTH and Z17DTR
Partnumbers 13124675 and 374543
I see where you're coming from that they are not 100% identical.
Maybe vocky's is.
Here's a high res of the stra shaft inner side.
If someone has a high res version of the vx one?

But wouldn't they be using the astra H shaft for the M32 conversion
