as you can see the Lotus M32 driveshafts have totally different inner CV's and gaitors to the F23.
Also you can see they use the same cv joints and gaitors, but with different length shafts, just like the vx220 F23 driveshafts.

This shaft has been used by the germans since 2010 now.
But wouldn't they be using the astra H shaft for the M32 conversion
Are you acusing me of having an M32 gearbox without me knowing it
Seriously; put that partnumber in google, and it all points to an F23.
I don't understand why your info on the astra H 1.7cdti is pointing to an M32.

depends on the year, early cars had the F23, later the M32.
I was thinking of the later cars because the ebay link (in post 55) showed a M32 driveshaft

A google round showed that the Astravan H 1.7 cdti came with the M32 6-speed, and the regular car with the F23 5-speed (which we need)
The M32 6-speed was also used in the normal astra H ecoflex version at the end of the H lifecycle.
Not making things easier to get the right one off the bay

Here's a high res of the stra shaft inner side.
If someone has a high res version of the vx one?

I have ordered this. I will see if it fits and report back.

Certainly looks like the right thing and some factor sites definitely list it as compatible with the VX.

I need to purchase and fit a new inner boot this weekend. In the absence of an OEM option can anyone recommend a universal alternative as a short term option?

I have some Kia Sedona (oooh, the glamour!) CV boots on order. ETA any day. Hang on and I'll tell you whether they fit.

Ok I will keep an eye out for updates. I have a track day booked on Monday so need to find an alternative before then, perhaps a split boot as a temp fix? Speaking as little more than a foolish ignoramus, I cannot see anything other than the sense of contacting Elizp on here and asking for a complete pax driveshaft and fitting that. Looks 1000 times easier to fit and will likely last a track day.
But then again, as a wise man once said: "who is more foolish: The fool or the fool who follows him?"
I am not hearing a lot of love from those who try the universal Ebay kits, then venture onto track.
I shall go back to chasing squirrels with bent sticks now.

Not really much help but my MOT station managed to get an OEM out boot within 10 days, came from Spain apparently.

Well Vauxhall told me there were 38 on back order and were £75 each. I am going to have to use a universal alternative as a short term fix so am keen to find out how you get on with the Kia parts.
