Cheers John, and thanks again for giving up your time! it was a good weekend and I learned a lot, I just don't want to do it all over again! Not sure I could swing the weather either, i woke up today to winter. Will wait and see what the garage say anyway, if it's going to be mega bucks then i'll have no other choice than to get the spanners back out!

Ali your not going to run out of friends! If you were a tad closer I would have helped. Having changed the engine in SW I know how much of a bitch it is. I expect the garage to charge a bomb for that :( If I can help with parts or anything just give me a shout

I am happy to pop along and lend a hand, have all the tools and live near John so I could tag along with him if nothing on. Actually been helping at my mates garage last few days half way through changing a turbo and manifold on a big van only had to drill out and re tap four of the rusty bolts with no room to move so hurry before I get fed up of working on engines.

They've been playing with it over the weekend, and the car is currently firing on 1 cylinder but then obviously cuts out again.

The clutch issue isn't ideal either as it's something else that needs sorting.

The guys are giving up their time to do it so i won't put any pressure on, they will sort a solution out with the breaker for me tomorrow.  Then I've just got to decide whether I get the garage to fit it, or if it comes back to mine and I start the process again.

To be honest, i'm kinda glad it's not outside mine anymore when I look out the window, I can forget about it for a while!

The breaker swears blind it was a runner, tried to make out that it was something we'd done during fitting, which is BS.  The guy who owns the garage shut them up anyway, and investigations are still ongoing.

So, no basically.  :(
