Cheers John, and thanks again for giving up your time! it was a good weekend and I learned a lot, I just don't want to do it all over again! Not sure I could swing the weather either, i woke up today to winter. Will wait and see what the garage say anyway, if it's going to be mega bucks then i'll have no other choice than to get the spanners back out!Id help again freely, it was fun. Youd need to dial in some good weather though!

They've been playing with it over the weekend, and the car is currently firing on 1 cylinder but then obviously cuts out again.
The clutch issue isn't ideal either as it's something else that needs sorting.
The guys are giving up their time to do it so i won't put any pressure on, they will sort a solution out with the breaker for me tomorrow. Then I've just got to decide whether I get the garage to fit it, or if it comes back to mine and I start the process again.
To be honest, i'm kinda glad it's not outside mine anymore when I look out the window, I can forget about it for a while!

The breaker swears blind it was a runner, tried to make out that it was something we'd done during fitting, which is BS. The guy who owns the garage shut them up anyway, and investigations are still ongoing.
So, no basically.

the valve seats will be rusty if the valves were bent before you fitted it
