Those places aren't too far from me (Preston) but I wouldn't have a clue really I'm afraid They'd have to do it n could blag me I bet. Must be a member somewhere nearby? There's another silver vx near me as I get spotted by friends thinkin it's me, so far I haven't seen it myself. Also seen a blue one near my house with a wing and evo style roof vortex. Maybe a green one knocking about Leyland somewhere. If anyone knows who they are, they may help out? Such a friendly and helpfulcommunity as seen in this thread along with many many others

You would of thought it would be a smaller headache to them to give you your money back and sell the engine to someone else that isn't going to ask as many questions.

Righty, they've agreed to refund me £368.40 which is what I paid minus the carriage both ways.  I can't be arsed going into any more with them so i've accepted it, i need to get my car on the road after being without it for 2 months now.

 

So the saga will start all over again, got to find an engine but I've got less money to play with than I started with. fcuking great.

I think that covers the distance selling laws, buyer has to pay postage but that is usually if you return something thats OK.  Given they supplied a dodgy one you may have got a bit more out of them but I think you are right to cut your losses and avoid some stress.  Let us know when the next spannering day is.

Just been catching up on your woe's have to say that doesn't really seem fair but may be not worth the fight. TBH if it was me, given the time of year I'd be look at a Z22SE powered Vectra or Astra for the winter as they cost about what you paid for an engine, then do a engine swap next spring and weight the rest of it in for scrap.
