Does the throttle do its strange boot sequence?

If not check the blue plug (of loom of doom infamy) is pushed home fully.

Did you put the engine and box in in one piece? If not check you haven't trapped the crank sensor wire between the engine and box

also might be worth pulling fuse 8 for 10 minutes to reset the ecu

Also have you fitted the brown and grey relays in the correct holders (in the boot), plus no wires hanging out the relay bases ?

Look in the throttle and turn the key.  It fully shuts, opens a bit and generally faffs on before its ready to start.

No codes come up. Boot relays all in ok but lights not hooked up or anything, that wouldn't be a problem would it?

No crank sensor wires trapped, engine and box went together while off the car.

You say you have fuel pressure Have you tried removing the spark plugs to see if its actually getting through the injectors Ahh just noticed checking the injectors has been covered 😄

I give up.

We checked all the connectors again and cleaned them up, stack is showing normal temps now.

We tried to jump start it, no joy.

When the alarm goes off, the ECU buzzes. Is that normal?

All the earth points are fine we think.

Fuel is getting to the injectors, we checked the plugs all spark ok and have fuel.

we removed fuse 8 for a while, didn't help.

checked all the relays, they are all seated properly (not actually removed any of them anyway, but checked just in case).

I even tried talking nicely to it, pep talk didn't work.

The clutch isn't right, but that's a different thread/story and wouldn't stop it from starting.  It doesn't seem to disengage properly :(

stupid plastic pile of sh*t, i hate it today.

So its turning over but not catching? Try one little thing for me. Test the fuel rail nozzle doofer until fuel squirts out and then try to start it. Does it start but only run for a couple of seconds?

If the clutch won't disengage isn't that slowing the cranking speed due to the drag of the gearbox

DAFT QUESTION ALERT: Is the ECU off your old engine?

DAFT QUESTION ALERT: Is the ECU off your old engine?

I reckon its off the new engine and its not talking to the immobiliser. Hence the questions above, because that sounds like the immobiliser kicking in.

My thoughts exactly. But, getting fuel AND spark only leaves the TB at fault, not letting in air.
