If you're getting the Saab lump the rods are rated to 400+. You'll never pass that limit unless you upgrade the liners so engine open again. You'll also want normal sized pistons, not the .5 overboard size. Reason being the enigjne won't need a rebore as its brand new with no wear. Saves you £350+ I'd be Intrested in stock size pistons though.

I'm changing crank to 2.2 so will need rods I believe but could be wrong

You're wrong. ;) I'll happily spend your money for you but no need to on the rods. Changing the crank to z22se is what makes it become a 2.2L the rods are the same size and can take over 400. Vocky can confirm this as it was him that gave me the advice. Another plus to buying the engine. Getting the stock size pistons will save you £150+ on a rebore and makes the block that much stronger.

New Saab engine guys want 86.0 :) Z22se rebuild with 10k+ miles want the 86.5 over bore and will want a rebore done for them to fit.

you will need a z22se crank to convert it to a 2.2, expect to buy a z22se bottom end for £50 to get one. you also need some eagle steel rods and wiseco standard size 8.9:1 pistons from the states - check ebay.com etc for current costs. Compcams blower cams also from the states, not essential at this stage, but required for stage 3 SC. Other than that a Saab / z20net head gasket - £50 and GM head bolts - £25 That is pretty much it I can also just supply you with just the parts to use the saab engine, but you would need to do the balancer delete bearings mod yourself, however I can supply the idler gears for the delete.

What he did say is for the Saab block, you need to make sure the pistons are for the supercharged LSJ engine and not the later turbo LSJ/LNF turbo (direct injection) engine.

Not that I know of. However that list of part fail limits had the lsj block. The r, e letter relate to the cams being different (from what I understand) and not the internals. We just need to find out some answers as don't intend on paying out what I don't need to.

I agree any idea where we could find out Or will it be something we could check when we have engines

You guys have to read up on compression height etc.:

If you're swapping 2.2 cranks in a B207, you are building a Z22SE or L61 bottom end and this will need the 2.2 Eagle rods and 2.2 type pistons (in stock bore)

(Using LSj rods and pistons with a 2.2 crank will put the pistons well above the deck due to the longer crank stroke...)

I'll chat with Vocky and see what he thinks. He might of being wanting to build something alittle different as I asked to keep the rods?

What about all the little adaptions like coil pack and oil pump connections? I'd love to try it all myself but I know I'll forget to tighten one bolt and it'll all fall apart.
