Been having some problems with my shed recently - vibration at motorway speeds.

 

Done all the usual tracking,balancing, new tyres (backs had worn unevenly due to tracking issue) and even changed one of the alloys for a new one as apparently it had a big warp in it.

 

Thats helped alot and most of the vibration has now gone but not all of it.

 

So wanted to check if any of my other alloys were warped so borrowed an instrument for measuring the warp and of the remaining 3 original wheels the worst one is only warpred by 0.5 mm

 

My question is at 70mph+ will 0.5 mm warp in an alloy wheel cause vibrations ?

That should be balanced out by weights.

 

Have you had the TRE replaced as play in these will cause wobble even if the adjustments are correct.

TRE - is that Tie Rod End ?

Track rod end at the front, tie rod at the back

I bent a wheel last year by about 3/4 inch, that was beyond balancing really, needed something like 120gramms to equalise it and it still wobbled.
