Which is basically what I said. Actually because AC has equal negative and positive cycles the net result is the muscles working to grab are working equally against the muscles working to release so the net result is you neither grab harder to release quickly. But you can pull away. Which is what I've found from personal experience.

Bob its not that simple. For example if you being critical, show me a release muscle in your body that's not 10 times weaker than its counter part. Test your grip strength and compare it with the strength you have to open your hand and all your muscles go into full tension and spasm nothing to do with polarity we dont have muscles that operate at different polarity of 240v If your holding something you will be very very lucky to let go before you croak. you like me have probably just touched the thing as we went to get hold and been able to pull away but once you have hold that's your lot, We will just have to agree to disagree.Which is basically what I said. I've touched and grabbed (fnarrrr) but have been able to get away.
Like I say the net result of going positive and negative will not result in clenching unlike dc which is just 'on'
