IMO, the Thorney style coupe looks terrible. The way the rear lid just sits on top of the clam looks like an after thought.
The Exige style coupe, with the lid blending into the clam, is a proper factory job.

What you go and do that for?! I really liked it how you had it! Suited the car a lot more and looked the biz!
Disagree entirely.
This is much sexier, and should works in the real world. Plus, the finish is about a million times better now, as I've had loads of practice now..

Love the holes in this coupe.
Matches the louvres in the front, and are much more stylish then the thorney coupe.
Carry on
I agree. I love it, bet it will look great once finished.

Like the idea, only the roof/lid lines seem to flow a little bid odd... Try to make them all fluent lines and use a long flexible piece of wood f.i. to see where to add/substract something. It's not easy to get it right and appealing to the eye.

So spent the day sorting out a few of the lines, its nearly there and is looking much better...
Next step is lower down on the car, the area that I have already cut out at the bottom. I'm in the process of altering a standard back box to have 1 tail pipe on each side, should look much, much better on this car. The tail pipes will be level with the lowest tail pipe currently, which should look much much better on this car I think.
That means that the gap where the exhaust is can be filled, but while I'm at it do I keep the grill below the number plate? My current thinking is yes, although it could look a bit odd? Thoughts welcome.

you should lose the grill and then box in the section where the upper tailpipe currently sits

Really liking the coupé roof but I think as it stands the lower section looks awful IMHO. It looks a bit like the rear of an F430, maybe if you worked on the middle to get it to look a bit more like that and had the exhausts exiting within the outermost bits of body work it could work quite well?

Thoughts welcome.
Can you make a pixie from the complete rear standing exactly in the middle behind it? (easier to photoshop)

leave it open and exposed like some Exiges are

That must be a nightmare to keep clean, but YES!!
(needs the wheel arches to be straight though)

Progress, not much though. Filled in the void, and got the finish much, much better again.
Needs bit of work on the underside to level it all out, but you get the idea.
Also, I thought it looked a bit familiar overall, and I realised i've inadvertantly built Mr Lamberts sketch from his thread..

I think you should make the cutout lower and more progressive in the corners.
In fact I think you should copy his sketch exactly, it looks frickin awesome

Hmmm I sort of see what your saying. But I think the reason I did it at the angle its at was to mirror the number plate cutout angles.
There aren't that many progressive curves in the VX's palette, well until I started tinkering about with the rear.
