I'm heading to a track day next weekend with some friends and wanted to capture some onboard footage of the day. As I don't have a harness bar my options for securing a camera were limited. So after a successful morning fixing the central heating I headed into the garage to see what I could find laying around to make a camera mount.
Inspired by the harness bar approach, I used an old Vileda mop (hasn't been used for over a year) which had a handle made of nice thin steel tube. Plus I used some sheet alluminium that was laying around, a couple of odd bolts and I pinched the little fixing bolt from a tripod I have.
I'm pretty pleased with the results so thought I would share for inspiration for others in a similar position...

And finally some footage to prove it works. It's got some vibration going on so I may add an extra little support (if I can be bothered):-
