Great stuff, let me know when you want payment I won't be doing any of it myself but il bear that in mind.thanks Oh and at some point I may need some advise/recommendations on what amp to go for and speakers etc as I don't have a clue when it comes to this type of thing all I know is I like my music :) Just a thought I know people say it isn't worth spending ££ on speakers in the Vx but will there be any probs with the sub out doing the speakers hence needing some good speakers to cope with the sub?

It's more setting the volumes correctly, if the subwoofer is too loud then it will overpower the speakers, but that can be adjusted on the amplifier or head unit (depending how you have it set up), obviously if you have high quality speakers it will add to the overall effect, but the key thing to do is play around with the volume level of the sub vs. level of the other speakers to find the sweet spot.

I've got the rear section for yours out of the mould today. The front will take another couple of days then a few days to bond it together, so we're probably a week away from having it ready to go, so no rush yet.

(depressingly, these take about seven days to produce as I need to wait for various stages to set before I can move on to the next one)

I'd like one of these too tom, but I need to confirm which shelf I have and im in Barbados till next tues so cant take a picture of it till then.

I think mine looks the same as bumblebee's(off the top of my head) but will confirm when I get home and pick up my tubby from mike at SS. did someone say to put spacer rings BEHIND original speaker positions?

That's what I did. It does involve taking the parcel shelf out but did make a difference for me.

Fitted mine yesterday. Pretty pleased with it. Sounds much better than the slimline one I had before.

doesn't surprise me Tom, a slimline sub is a huge upgrade for a vx - even with quite a compromised design - would think this takes it another step up.

good work as always

Tidy work! Very impressed, I've got a top spec 10" jl audio sub and phoenix gold amp from back in the day so would be nuts to miss out on this! If you are ok to make another one please? I will need to check the depth of the sub and which parcel shelf I have unless it's been confirmed that it's ok to fit either type?

I don't know if the other version works yet, however I can refund you if it doesn't fit. Happy(ish) to do another one. Am playing around with resin infusion which should make it slightly less involved for me. Should have yours ready in a week or so.

Oh, I measured the volume of the enclosure using water at the weekend, it's 21 L. 10 inch subs ideally use a 18-22 L volume (does vary with manufacturer specifications), so ideal for the application.

hah no, yours is a bit more leaky because the parts aren't bonded together yet. I used the plug (the one I took the mould from)
