Vented oil cap bypasses all the oil seperation steps in the cover, so not a very smart move...

Agreed. Certainly needs to be plumbed straight into a oil separator. Not sure if Sticky has seen any leakage from his modified oil cap, though he's ITB so may have less of an issue anyway.

Maybe a job for the LSJ vacuum pump.

vapours are pulled through the usually blocked pcv port on the manifold, after the laminovas.

And injected back into the inlet manifold before the last laminova through the tube shown in this pic.

"After or before" are getting a bit mixed up here. Can we agree that the pcv valve vents the gasses on the cyl. head side of the manifold, so "after" if we look in air flow direction.

Cheers for all comments and advice, Going to purchase a oil separator for the cam cover and then check laminovas after a year and see how we are getting on. Hopefully the extra clean air will help the laminovas being clogged up Will also put a filter after the oil separator and see how we get on

IIRC all clogged up laminova´s came from car´s with plugged PCV´s and rocker cover venting into air or catchtank.

All contamination came from poor clean air filtering.

Let´s see what happens now we start using the PCV.

What is the pipe for? Not std. Are you going to tidy up the fuel carbon filter pipes up? Engine looks nice and shiny, good progress.

It's the header tank pipe, I think It's not in the right position yet the engine is mounted with nothing connected yet

it's the fuel tank vent valve breather, I always shorten them by cutting off the end section with 250mm of hose still attached (not sure of exact length) and then fit that to the charcoal filter - so remove the white elbow and original rubber hose from the plastic fitting, which easily unclips from the charcoal filter to make life easier

Just been out to check it's the pipe which goes to the header tank

It looks like it's going towards the fuel filler in the pic but it was just tucked up there

The vent pipe is the one below. As Vocky says shorten it and remove the plastic box (not the large carbon filter). Think I just needed a Y connector but I think it may of been because I broke one. Let me know if you are not sure what to remove.
