Water temp influencing it also?

Interesting.

More likely to get knock if the cylinder liner temperature is too high.

My Mistake it's adding fuel at these temps

advancing ignition timing increases cylinder temperatures and heat to the cooling system and retarding timing increase the heat in the exhaust.

To keep the car smoother when the temps go up and the ecu starts retarding

Peter can put in a higher number then 57 to start retarding. (via a map update.) No need to wait for obdtuner pro for that.
I've asked peter How much retardation is carried out at what temps And also asked about changing them for me Cheers smiley

I didn't know this but something to keep in mind thanks Maybe it's time to get some exhaust temp data

I'm curious about the oil pressure thing?

Seems some B207 conversions are doing it (Monkeys for example) and others aren't (Bill's for example)

Suggests to me that people are running different PCV options and that's what's causing the discrepancy - no?

interesting thread, quick question

So the saab engine has unrated internals to handle how much power if paired with a harrop supercharger?

What would you need to do to a saab engine to push 350 plus, and costs to get the engine ready for 350 plus.

Mine ran heavy when engine was at just over 1000 miles and open to atmosphere But has been a lot better since going oem with a catch tank

arctic is running a Saab 2.0 litre with a factory built B207 bottom end, Bill has a totally rebuilt 2.2 litre B207 hybrid

Agreed. Maybe I need better comparison. But then Chill says he had pressure issues initially and he's 2.2 hybrid no?

I'm far from an expert here Neil, as well you know, but as someone else running 2-litre (although not factory-built) B207 I'm just interested to know what is causing the pressure issue in the hope that I don't have to deal with it myself if and when the time comes

There are now a few 2.0 engines with untouched bottom ends fitted, but yours is the only rebuilt 2.0

I now advise to run an OEM breather system with the LSJ cam breather hose and open PCV hole (between 2+3 inlets) due to heavy breathing on some engines with the closed PCV thumbsup

Closed PCV is required for Courtenay mapping, Dutch is fine with it open.

Thanks Neil.

Obviously it's not been run hard and long enough on the dyno to see any issues so far (certainly in terms of breathing) so I guess I'll just have to see what it does on the road - hopefully not cover my new paint in oil

Must check with MBR what he did with PCV routing etc though

2.2 low comp pistons, Saab head and sump with stg2 comp cams. No problem with dipstick popping but oil levels over half and it's prone to pukeing out the cam breather. Not touched PCV.

I'm the same if I go over the middle of the dip stick level indicator it just sends it out of the cam cover or orifice in no time on track
