To keep the car smoother when the temps go up and the ecu starts retarding

Peter can put in a higher number then 57 to start retarding. (via a map update.) No need to wait for obdtuner pro for that.
I've asked peter How much retardation is carried out at what temps And also asked about changing them for me Cheers smiley
Got a answer from Peter Hi Chris, In the OEM software this is set to 35C. For engines with standard internals and the IAT sensor measuring the boost temperature I set this to start at 60C. For engines with stronger internals I nowadays remove this so there will be no ignition retard due to high IAT's. This is also the case with your calibration however this does not mean the ECU will not pull the ignition, there are more systems active which will do this, with the current software version this cannot be disabled. (In ObdTunerPro it will be possible to disable these systems totally) Kind regards, Peter

We dropped the oil and put possibly .5L of oil less in and the dip stick would pop up but higher up the rev range. Before it was doing it at 6500rpm and since the change it's now at 6800. Obviously there's some high crank pressure that finds the dipstick the easiest route to vent from. Could my baffled sump have something to do with it? The internal plate could be playing a part in the flow of the pressure? Graeme, don't start scaring yourself into thinking you might have an issue. You've yet to drive the thing and you still don't know what compression your pistons are. You are literally testing an unknown engine with your build. No one else off the top of my head has forged the Saab and kept it 2L. You need to find what works and that will only happen when it's on the road and track.

Dipsticks, one is Saab and the other is Vx

I'm wondering if you have the wrong one fitted causing you to over fill the oil causing your breathing problems

The dipstick tubes are the same length albeit different angle It's the actual dipstick that is different

Dipstick insertion height is different between B207 and Z22SE sump pan, so take note which dipstick (length) you use...

Hey.

As many i have the ttv underdrive pulley from your groupbuy.

But the belt touches the generator pully.

Attached File  Zwischenablage01.jpg   204.11KB   10 downloads

I am on 6PK 1300 belt. 1285 i did not get fitting

When i will go for a lower Harrop pulley the belt will totally touches the generator pulley.

Any suggestions?

if you use a slightly shorter belt it will bring the tensioner higher and move it away from the pulley

Yes, also use a phenolic spacer which moves the Harrop in the wrong direction. The next shorter belt i found was the 1285 which does not fit. The z22se tensioner is the same lenght like the saab. If there was a shorter tensioner i would be the solution

Can you cut the body of the tensioner and weld it back shorter? Or move the locating dowel so it points higher?

It is the dipstick TUBE which is a different length thumbsup

And the earlier Saab dipstick tube is a different length to the later Saab dipstick tube

If you use the vx220 dipstick tube the oil level should be kept between minimum and half full on the dipstick.

If you use the later Saab dipstick tube keep the oil level at half full.

If you do a 'z22se' and fill it to max then it will probably burn oil :glare:

When you go smaller pulley you will need a smaller belt So get one small enough to have the tensioner higher up
