yes. That fixed it for me on my 5k rpm issue, but never heared of the rattle thing you're having.

will have to do some swapping around tomoz but i was getting a slight miss on the old coil pack at around 7000 rpms

which was solved by the new one three weeks ago

lets just hope its the springs and caused a vibration on to the metal cover

bloody cars

has anyone looked at individual coils for the b207 z22se combo ?

Not sure our ecu would like a non ion sensing setup. could mean custom loom, lsj ecu and hp tuners. Mayby a bit much to tackle a coilpack issue.

Clearly all your problems are due to the inferior Z22SE engine design... I would not do spent any more effort on this and a.s.a.p. swap over to a B207. MartinS can advice you in this. :D

You can switch over to coil on packs, but if you don't find a solution for the ions sensing cam signal it will no longer do a sequential injection and go batch fire. Made some serious M62 power on Carlos' engine though.

Ok I've been over all of my thoughts with this through the night And after some measuring this morning It is possible that the springs were not touching the plug When I took them out they were significantly more compressed than what they were when they went in, but it's hard to tell the exact length required as they move once locating them in then boot I've not tried it yet as its still quite early But as soon as 9 am comes I will try it And fingers crossed it was the issue I also think it would help if we could put somthing under the GM ally plate we use to keep the coil pack down as there potentially a bit of play with that after fastening down

I have some 10mm foam under the alloy coil pack cover, just to stop any vibration

You can drill 2 holes in coil pack to pick up holes to clamp it down

Used a bit of servo hose cut in half lengthways stuck underneath. Also one of the plugs weren't held down enough and sounded like a Scooby :)

I added extra rubber under cover to force the coil pack down better.

Also -

Would these be of any use.

I didn't get them, but they were found for me and recommended by Vocky as a possible solution to a problem at one time. I didn't get them in the end but with all you've done, thought they might be worth a look by you.

Quick result of todays MAHA dyno rolling road session and will scan the complete graphs + details later.

Had some major grip problems on the rollers and first part of the graph was not full throttle, but not too shabby for a meazle 2.0.

(dyno rpm/rollers is a bit off; max logged limit was 7781rpm.)

Was a bit of a quick test to see what a full 3" system would improve over my 2.5" system. (Besides the extra noise...)

PS; Airfilter temp in the RR booth reached 31*C and my IAT topped at 73*C there.
