Spent hours this weekend  trying to track down the source of the sudden sound of a few loose nuts rolling from side to side when cornering, or rolling to front when braking.  Especially after I fitted my new grippy track tyres.

Were they trapped under seat??.... above undertrays??... in front clam??  Finally, only place left was inside the sill, but surely nothing could have fallen apart in there, and it's all sealed isn't it?

OMG when I got access to the sill this is what I found!

Suggest you all park your  Vauxhall Dry Storage Unit  a very long way from oak trees and squirrels

Yeahmy  first thought was this is totally unbelievable.

But give them back to the squirrel?  I wanted to shoot the bloody squirrel after hours of hassle! (need a vote on this, I've still got the nuts as evidence)

But then I decided it was pretty funny and would cheer everyone up to share it.

I found on the web one or two tales of them crawling into engine bays and storing them in the air intake, but this was a great escape expert !   He (she?) must have got onto the undertray then kept nosing around for a REALLY safe spot... into the back of the sill following the intercooler lines, squeezing over two foam bulkheads, then dropping at far end.   Then back for another mouthful x whatever times!   All the while dodging our cat and dog.

That'll be a shame if it got out for an exploration when you went for a drive & it didn't get back in time. LOL

All I can imagine now is driving along and a squirrel popping up out of one of the air vents on the dash.

Bloody hell I didn't think of that... a rodent up the trouser leg is bound to be distracting

It's now got 2 other cars sacrificed nearer the oak tree than the VX, so hopefully it won't go that far, but I suppose it will remember it has a stash in the nice little silver one.

That's the thing, you may have removed them but it will still think they're in there.

You have no alternative now, you're going to have to fit a squirrel flap.

That's nuts. Literally I once had a Citroen bx with a stuck electric window that was half down. CBA to fix it. One morning I found a cat asleep in a the subwoofer in the rear parcel shelf. Shooed it out but it ruined the bass and the car smelt of wee ever since.
