I read that... On looks alone that ought to be in ClubPro RWD.
Will be interesting to see it competing and I would be interested in knowing who his 'racing' support individual is.

Looking at this I ask myself.... why not just bold on a toe hitch and drag around a trailer?

I really do wish him the best of luck. I am concerned about the rear aero but as any aero package on these cars, it is suck it and see. We hit it right this year right up to the point we had to reduce the size of the front splitter. After that we had slow speed understeer issues.
Good on him for having a vision and giving it a go.

He seems to be a nice enough chap and is very enthusiastic. He's been asking me for some of my data from wind tunnel testing and for some pointers, but then gone and done pretty much everything completely differently, because he doesn't want to copy me. The way some of the stuff is done is 'questionable', but hey ho, it's not my car. In my opinion, any money he's spending needs to go on safety first (he hasn't got a cage), then the chassis, engine and so on. Then aero last.
I wish him all the best too, but unfortunately I think he's going to find out the hard way just how difficult this stuff is to do properly and with a small budget. I'd say almost impossible. Aero can be amazingly effective and one of the best ways to reduce lap times, however it's also an absolute bastard to get your head round, even when you have some very clever people helping you.

Getting the nose right down with a big and strong splitter is the key thing in my experience/testing. Good on him for experimenting though, more than 95% of keyboard warriors ever try.

Yet
i run my turbo closer to the head than he does with no issues, i do agree regarding the car seems a little over kill in terms of aero!
About six inches directly behind his head with only a thin panel in between. If it doesnt cook his head it'll take it off when the turbo lets go. 300bhp from a K series!!!! It'll be like a grenade with the pin hanging out
to the back of his head I hope 😀You should see where he's bolted his turbo!!
2 years, 4 hard dyno sessions in car and on bench dyno and use in the car says other wise but appreciate your concern
It wil be fine...........................................right up to the point where it all goes wrong

Well im glad to be famous on here.
I do a fair bit of reading on here to gleam any bits of hints, tips and also I enjoy reading peoples project threads, ive known about this thread for a couple of days and havent said anything to see what comments im getting.
In regards of the actual setup of the vehicle, ive been searching for as much advise as I can, having chris randall set the car up(toe, caster, camber etc) and also coming up with my own solutions for wishbone angles to allow me to run lower to help with aero and COG.
Running a very large splitter, canards and end fences, this with my skirts I hope will be enough to balance my wing at a decent AofA, the good thing is though that even if theres not alot of downforce produced by the front I can just wind the wing back(i shouldnt need to as im following the theory of my aerodynamics book closely.
Im sure your loving the idea of turbocharging a rover k series, but im bringing on someone who knows turbod k series fairly well(he did work on the 217mph car) and is very confident he can get a 350bhp engine to hold together as long as we can keep the water temps sensible.
As Nev says, least im trying and doing things my own way, I would rather try, fail and learn from it then sit behind a keyboard and wonder.
If I followed what everyone on that thread said I would have still have stock elise bodywork, have spent £15000 on a supercharged honda engine(which I cant afford) and wonder why im coming last.
Im building mine with the aspirations of winning my class and my ideas reflect my budget, as they say, you can tame a fast car, you cant make a slow car fast.
