Couldnt tell you what mine was tbh. You have the data of mikes from croft what was he getting?

I will have to have a look but from memory he was over -1G consistently but obviously the braking was looked at properly on that build.

ah right, so even heavier than mine then, will  be good fun to see how close I can get to that time with practice

Im running PF pads at the moment as a few of the elise racers rated them highly on stock 2 pots, i will try cl6 in the future, but will need to use all these PF ones first.

Please don't be disappointed when comparing your laps to Randy, he is a seasoned, championship winning race driver with lots of experience and talent. By comparison even the fastest drivers will not compare (I believe he has even bested Scuffers on a few occasions  )

I think you will be surprised how much talent comes into things and I wouldn't be shocked if you were 5s+ slower a lap even with your weight advantage.

PF01's are a great pad and do work better a high temps but consistency is key, so don't ditch the cooling for negligable aero gains.

Cooling the brakes really isn't required unless doing very, very long sessions or endurance events, especially on a lightweight Time Attack car. (Obviously dependant on brake setup) I have never used any direct brake cooling on my car and have had zero issues over the 7-8 years that I've been tracking/competing with it. Even last year with around 700bhp we had no problems with the brakes and were getting up to near 170mph.

Sent the form off earlier in the week, spoke to the organiser and im booked in, time is going to be very tight getting the car ready as theres still alot to do before then, the plan is to drive down friday morning then spend the afternoon setting everything up.

Well I can only try my best and see what I come up with, its nice to have a reference point in terms of apex speeds and lines through the corners to learn from.

I currently dont have any brake cooling at the moment, so im loosing anything I previously had, when i get some testing over winter i will have a look at brake temps to see where I stand

Dont mention scuffers, he hasnt abused me for a couple of months now, you will awake the monster haha

Cheers Nev, though I really wish you had used any other word but 'smashing' when it comes to a motorsport event!

After seeing the veyron ss on tv again noticed it has the same behind front wheels. If they put it on a £1.5 million car it has got to be a good aero mod?...

Sounds like you'll need a dukes of hazard approachto getting in and out if you need to lose the door hinges!

Its pretty common on alot of race cars, they all have there own ways of doing it. Even the motorsport elise had it. The proper way of doing it will have quite a large gap behind the wheel either being completely open like mine or have a large duct exiting further back.

I wasnt thinking of getting rid of them as in the future I will want to put my oem doors back on when I pull the aero back off and it just becomes a weekend fun car. If I ever did go that far to remove the hinges I would mould a window surround Into the door and then have the door hinged from the roof. Amg sls style. But I would be suprised if I ever take the aero that far, at the moment this is quite mild aero package compared to final design I have in my head

the only way to know for sure would be to check with manometer tubes , we use a multi tube setup to show delta pressure over aerofoils in our windtunnel.
