Where can you best use axle stands? Apart from underneath the car does anybody have experience of best positioning?

ok.... stick your thumbs in your ears
In the boot with the sub?
traktor and laptop.... ? Placing stands in the wrong location underneath the car could leave one in such a situation.

Not trying to be a tw@ but they only work from underneath. From the side or above won't work unless the car is on it's side or upside down, which would be unusual.
Here's a picture of mine - currently on stands - hope that helps.

MOT garage used Just A initially the other day while on the lift (both sides), to check the suspension. Car was like a seesaw...
