I'll see when it gets down to matt Bentley haha. The entry speeds were slowly, especially against Martin in Laurens car, he said he was braking much later and cornering quicker. (She has standard suspension but decent R1Rs) I was braking late and as hard as I could for the corners but a little later and harder and it would start locking up, just didnt feel like I had the grip there. Especially compared the the national on those bridgestones. Maybe just the tyres will make a decent difference, its nice to track it between major mods aswell so I can see differences being made.Your car was set up by Phenex motorsport, so id of thought it was more than ready for track use? lets put the squirming down to the drivers entry and exit speeds. ; )As he catches me you can see my car squirming for grip as I go through the corner. It has nitrons on it but I have no idea who set the car up, if at all. Also never checked to see what settings they are on. Along with my triple 8s having less than 1mm left on them. I think with the new tyres ive got and it setting up properly will knock 3-4 seconds off my lap4.2 - He's not that quick despite claims of 'only the race vx being able to give him a run for his money'. Looks like a clear lap at 6:33 - 7:31 (from end of cooper straight to end cooper straight) making it a 58 second lap. My stage FA 145bhp NA road car was running around in the 57s....

Given cliffie probably has a better power to weight ratio and has won his class in time attack more than once I'd say he has a good chance...I wanna go against that Scooby of yours.
I'm going to take it on my chin ....... I really hope it was a sarcastic comment of yours...

I think it was tyres too. On a cold day I don't think the 888's were getting warm enough. I've got some footage following you for a lap. Happy to post up when I get a minute so you can see lines and how the car was moving around.I'll see when it gets down to matt Bentley haha. Well that's what i meant by looking at his avatar and seeing the car in flesh that day too If that was the one? . It's a totaly different level and shouldn't be compared or me challanged anyway , lol....My car is in full trim , 5 seats with subtle mods to cope with ocasional track work ... We can share our opinions or full fill our egos on here but i will let you enjoy doing it alone... As i'm here not for that reason , willy waving i meant , as the chap in the previous with post nr 1 about subaru mark and rally cars on the track
he never been overtaken by ... so much hate .... grow up....

sounds very familiar to the set up hes trying to sell me.Yeah stick the video up every days a school day for me! I never actually fitted your towing eye haha, its in my tool box at work. Because I still have the V yours didnt fit so ended up with an Elise shop folding one. Ideally when i down to matts ill want quantoms, 1" anti roll bar, bump steer and machined hub etc etc. As its track only i dont need it to be set up for any kind of road work! If i dont notice a difference after that then yes you can drag me infront of my family to be shot.

Good evening all.
Just thought i would make a quick reply to one or two points mentioned about 6-12-13
The circuit is owned by MSV and like all circuits it has a limit on how many cars are allowed to be booked on a event, we were operating 12 cars below the limit on the day.
Due to conditions on that Friday it was slippy, some folk found that out sooner than others. Some failed to drive within the limitations of there car and there talent.
We stopped ( for the first time ever) a track day to remind everyone to drive to the conditions. Never before had i ever seen such poor driving standards by people in the first hour of a event.
Four cars were sent home during the event for "poor driving standards", afew drivers were spoken to about the driving standards.
Some points were taken on board for 2014 one is to mention more regarding blue flags etc in the briefing.
Numbers on the day of cars were fine from my point of view, we were operating well under the limit of the circuit .
It was pointed out that LOT charged £149 and ran a day later with only 42 cars,so unfortunately they would have needed another 8 cars booked on just to pay for the circuit let alone staff to run it.
I am glad that some of you took up the offer of free tuition which i feel is always handy even if you are a "old hand' or new to track days it's free and saves you about £30 that some other companies would charge you. I only use Grade 'A' and 'S' level instructors.
I am also glad that you like the free photos that are provided for you by a pro photographer again another £25 or £30 saved.
i am also glad to see some of you enjoyed the free snacks and drinks provided, again saving you a few pounds.
So if you take the £149.00
Add 30 minutes tuition £30.00
Add photos £25.00
snacks etc £10.00
The £149 day that some of you then went on starts to look a bit more at about £214 which is £90.000 more i think, quite a fair bit more.
Anyway that's all from me.
I do hope to see some of you again in 2014 and i wish you all the best for the new year ahead.
Regards
Dave.

Yeah stick the video up every days a school day for me!
This was from one of the early sessions when the track was still pretty greasy. Just under a lap but should give you an idea of where I was able to make time up.

Dave, thanks for coming on and adding your thoughts. To help with future days I thought I'd add some specific feedback.
Good points for me were:
[*] the tea/coffee
[*] free (and excellent) pictures
[*] reasonable price (even though it cost me £135 as I booked late :-( )
[*] second briefing - it was clearly needed. Well done for taking action.
Areas for improvement:-
[*]The initial briefing was much shorter than I'm used to at track days and the blue flag was one of the key points that was missed (or not laboured enough). It needs to include direction to lift off the throttle as well as indicate and move over. This was glossed over on the day so I'm glad you're looking to spend more time on that in future as it's a point I raised at lunch (with the other chap organising the day with you).
[*]Didn't respond to feedback on the day. When I mentioned the blue flags I was told that it would be picked up in 2014. What would have been nice was to act on the day with the cars in question or even via a short announcement over the tannoy at lunch.
[*]Invite Q&A at the end of the briefing. I was going to raise the blue flag point but the briefing ended abruptly without the chance for questions before the mad rush for the door.
Thanks again for coming on the forum and sharing your comments. Have a great new year!

Cheers! By later in the day I had gotten surtees down to pretty much flat out whereas in that video i touched the brakes. Clearways is one I dont think i mastered, I tried turning earlier with most and also tried later so I could effectively have a longer straight. which is similar to that video but either way feel I didnt get the best from the car. I braked later for paddock later on but still had to brake just before that little rise as it goes bumpy just after and felt my grip wasnt high enough to brake harder along the bumps. Also probably can up my entry speed into paddock, definitely from that video but even more so than the end of the day. This was from one of the early sessions when the track was still pretty greasy. Just under a lap but should give you an idea of where I was able to make time up. ]Yeah stick the video up every days a school day for me!

This has been a great thread to read and has brought together some excellent videos from other forums
I have to agree that the day was one of the worst I have been on for driving standards.
I am not a big fan of Brands either but we have our Xmas party their after the track day so I may as well do it.
Opentrack are pretty good as far as other TDO's go so don't blame them for what went wrong, I have always found Dave to be approachable and eager to deal with any issues. Even to the point where someone tried to sue him for being excluded from a track day for the last hour.
You guys seem as keen to drive hard as myself and Mr M are and hope you can see from the video he has posted that we do tend to play by the rules as best we can.
Hopefully I didn't cause any of you a problem and look forward to seeing you next season, Donnington first if your TA man want to come(joke)
