Still not set off from work yet. Been sorting some sh*t. Forgot to mention today's epic battles. My Vs Lauren while she had Lizy in. And Me Vs Martin, him in Laurens car. Lauren was passenger in mine and was loving how hard her car was being pushed ;)

Great day in the endg. Rediculous start to the day and had to spend the day overtaking people without them indicating and putting up with some real knobheads (The guy in the scalextric stickered mini was the biggest and most useless %an*er).

The car to have was a VX na, Captain Vimes was all over me when we met (I'd like to blame the amount of spins I'd seen, my dead front 888's etc etc) but the reality was, he was just all over me.

The most fun I had was driving Laurens car scrapping with Mark, what a laugh. Following Lauren in my car watching her go past everything we met up with was great, and seeing the other na boys trouncing everything just made me wonder why we do so much tuning!

Timeto buy new tyres and tuck some cash away for next years track events.

As ever what makes these events though are the people, wjhat a great bunch Vx'ers are.

Martin s

It was great to meet you yesterday Martin. I look forward to a future track day when you have tyres that have some tread on them. The way your SC vx left me for dead on the straight was eye opening. I must admit as soon as I noticed I was catching you I asked my heavy passenger to turn Radio 2 down a little so I could really concentrate... :-P Had great fun with the other vx's on track as well. Most memorable was lapping with Martin and Lauren together for a while, trying to chase 5o'clock in his race car (while I was 2 up), chassing Zoobeef and a bmw m3 at the end of the day and trying to keep sizeten in sight - watching him monster me on the straight and then try and reel him back in over the rest of the lap (not too successfully). Also to say well done to Lizy for having the confidence to take Stuwy's vx on such a busy track day despite the fact you hadn't driven it before - great job! I got some of it on video which I'll put up later :-)

With captain comes (god I'm sh*t with names) being so much quicker than me through the corners and having the same power atleast I know where to look at now. A decent set up and the grip he had in those RS-Rs was awesome. That final battle between me, him and the M3 was great. About 15 laps with the M3 trying to keep up to me but wasnt getting close enough to catch me on the straights. Whereas captain vimes was buzzing round his back bumper for ages!

The M3 was never going to let me past despite the blue flags. At one point I got round graham Hill bend and was able to pull alongside. The passenger sat looking at me struggling to get past on the straight while the driver kept his boot in and pulled back in front coming into clearways - not really track day etiquette so a couple of laps later I returned the favour and forced a pass on the back straight and immediately pulled away... It was an interesting comparison of rsr's and 888's. Certainly in the cool conditions the rsr's weren't giving anything away to the 888's. Although I suspect on a hot day the 888's would have shown their advantage.

Right, got some video footage uploaded now. I realised once I started watching it back that the camera was on auto focus so it focused inside the car - Doh!

There's more video uploading so I'll add some more links shortly.

So, first up chasing MartinS in the morning session:

Following 5o'clock in the race car (after getting past a BMW that couldn't see the blue flags...) - with Stuwy in the pax seat.

Definitely a reason to pay a little more to avoid the carnage of yesterday. Yesterdays Opentrack 60 cars at £99 or Todays LoT 43 cars at £140. Also more chance of like minded drivers rather than doodahs in chavved up subarus. No red flags or accidents today.

The guy in the green m3 what knob

thumbsup Yes he was. He had an intercooler hanging out the front bumper and clearly wasn't short on power. He was overheard later that day saying:- "You almost had me? You never had me -  Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky you didn't blow the welds on the intake! You almost had me?"

I have another example of an M3 that couldn't see the blue flags uploading at the moment....

Following Zoobeef and an M3 during the final session of the day.

Disappointingly the camera battery ran out about a lap before I passed the M3. A good example of the driving etiquette on the day.

Send the link to the vids to the organisers along with a note about how 3, 4 etc of you won't be using their days again as they did nothing after repeated mentionings of the poor driving. Worth the 5 mins thumbsup
