3 more turned up here now. They are very nice indeed.

As a bonus went to put them in the shed and to fit them in had to re arrange all my wheels and checked out two tyres that had been in wraps and I was unsure of there state and it turns out I have two half decent front 888's which is spot on, as my rear 888's are fine but knackered fronts. So now have a full set of 888's so may now go more road tyre oriented on these wheels.

For those interested I will be driving my car again as from tomorrow and I have 245/40 and 215/45 AD08R's fitted. Will let you know if I encounter any issues, the R888's were fine apart from front sill/arch cut out so don't expect any new issues.

Good, keeping my eye open for a delivery here then as well - wasn't sure if they would be delivering on a Saturday.

I assume all four of yours arrived?

Basically, lighter than std wheels, heavier than TD's though.

I found the same, it was assumed they were much heavier than TD's, a few people even said my wheels were no good because they were too heavy back in 2010. But there is nothing in it and bare in mind that is with wider tyres too. TD's quoted weights are best case for that casting with minimum material left, i.e. machined down as far as they can. Not the true weight of them in "VX spec". Weights above are correct.

I did weigh mine with 245/40 and 215/45 R888's, must have written them down somewhere.

Just drove 180 miles on the new AD08R's in 245/40 and 215/45, checked full lock. they are about the same as R888's. They need arch/sill recesses.

No but only because I have 700lb springs. If I had softer I fear they would unless I stick about 2.2 deg or more negative camber on there. Which I prob will, just got a very conservative setup on there while I let all the suspension settle in.

My conclusion so far is yes you can get 245/40 and 215/45 on but if you want to have a little more room and not be right on the limit then go for 205/45 and 235/40.

The problem is if you want a particular tyre, it may not come in those sizes.

Thanks for taking the time to feedback. My rear springs are only 450lb I think, and not running much camber either. Quite fancied those federals due to the competitive prices, but after your review I reckon I'll stick with Ad08s in 205/235 sizes for the time being.

IMHO at this time of year you are probably better off with AD08R's anyway. And for the road I spent 3 years running R888's, very rare that conditions favour semi slicks for the road. If you track a lot maybe the odd size ratio will not be a prob.

I will get some pics at some point that properly show where my tyres sit and post what my current geo is for more info.

Car is inside a garage under a cover and will prob stay there until Feb tbh, still I reckon for a few trackdays a year ad08s will be fine.
