Anyone got any pics of retrimmed VX220 seats with harness holes but without the damn universal plastic inserts?

Two that I can think of where ChazUwe's old NA and pretty sure RichyRoff's seats were done by Frogman as well.

Mine does however I have seen my car for 10 weeks so no pics I'm afraid

Those last 2 are the same seat but just different retrims...

I've been going over this decision in my head for best part of a year. The lotus motorsport ones don't come up for sale 2nd hand very often and still retain a high price. I personally cant justify nearly £1800 on seats when the originals can be made to look gorgeous for a third of the price. In fact those roffmeister seats have just sold it to me, retrimmed properly and not using those gashtastic plastic inserts the original seats look fine with harness holes if required.

No, they're different. The second one is obviously the factory Lotus seat. The other one looks like the Corbeau LE Pro seat by the look of it (which looks more like the factory VXR seat).

Actually you could be (and probably are! right) I've looked at those corbeau seats plenty of times and wondered how they'd turn out with a retrim.

Saving that roffmeister's pic though and will be speak with DtT and a local place to see what they can do. I know my original seats are comfy though the padding is obviously 10 years old and lost some of the comfort. They fit with the centre console, I have the rails, adjustable there really isn't anything wrong with them for me.

How do people find the alcantara parts on seats wear? Also anyone remind me what the hard wearing material people opt for on the bolsters is called?

Yes, bolt-ins are perfectly safe not through holes.  I use bolt-ons with no cut-outs.  They are great, but are slowly killing the edges of my seat

Wrap-around on the other hand.  No, just no.

Although if you do the physics they are fine, should you plan on only hitting things exactly head-on

Be wary of those that are entirely composite with bolt through fittings.  There have been a number of breakages which is not ideal in a crash situation!  The good ones have metal load spreaders in the laminate (look at your OE ones, you'll see where they are) which are often sacrificed to save weight.  These are important!

Have you sorted out your GRP seat mounting set up ?

The factory Exige ones James?

Aren't they just the same shells as those that DTT uses for the VX220 VXR-alike seats?

DtT / Exige carcasses are the same.

The standard VXR seats are not the same and are more like the blue upholstered version above (it may actually be the exact same carcass).

The CompositeWorx seats are a clone of that carcass too.

There's also the two types that Kieran's mate in Norfolk sells.

Yep, they are, but we tried to get to the bottom of it with with part numbers and it appeared that some might have been slightly taller in the head rest.

Mine are oem exige probax with cutouts, exactly the same as those in the picture. It was tight on the passenger head rest but mine went in, so must be some difference. I had to modify the centre console slightly as the rails were slightly wider than the standard VX ones.
