Funnily enough I have just suggested that very thing to Lotus, but I don't think it'll be pulling the wool over anyone's eyes!

Problem is I was hoping to use my personal contacts to net some discount. Not sure I could stomach paying full price for a pair. But thanks though Mark, it may come to something like that.

A little off topic, but a work colleague of mine is selling a pair of these Corbeau LE Pro seats taken from his S1 Elise.  http://www.sportseat...ts/cat_243.html

My question is, are these a like for like swap in my VX?

I believe they're a bit of a pain in the arse when it comes to subframes and you need a particular S1 subframe for them to be a direct swap.

So another thought...

Hanger111 seats here

Two options, one with vinyl trimmings and one with leather etc

Though I'm not convinced that Techie wasn't onto something with the Corbeau seat he posted in my Comp Worx group buy thread.

VIX had them and didn't particularly get on with them in his car, though a lot of that was down to the padding and the fit in the car wasn't perfect. I'm sure he mentioned the carcass for these had originated at Reverie but that might have been something else. Drop him a PM for more info or drop RobNA a PM to see how they're fairing a couple of years down the line.

I've got these in my S1 and I had to slightly change the mounting holes at the side and slightly elongate the holes in the subframe for the bolts that poke out from under the seat. All this, I believe, is because the seats have the mounting points for S2 therefore they should fit your VX subframes without modification. They're not a good fit so you may find you have to modify the holes on the subframe anyway though

The LE-PRO's are still a bad fit and Corbeau are still refusing to sort out new moulds, despite all the complaints for the last 4 years. They'll fit but you need 340R subframes.

And just to add, the Reverie don't fit out of the box either, despite the extra you'll pay for the 'VX specific fitting kit'....

Is this just the LE-PRO's or all Corbeau seats Matt?

Helpful, considering the price.

My new JKs are nice enough. Especially for what I paid for them. As they just had my mounts and the standard passenger brackets are welded types, they did new welds but on fitting i had to cut them off and re bolt with riv nuts to get it to fit. Would prob be easier to give them the car and subframes and then itll fit fine. Alot less flex than the old ones. Jimmy found some movement at the national and made me panic by saying are they bolted in properly. After looking though it was just movemebt in the drivers sliding rails.

Definitely the LE-PRO's but suspect it probably applies to all of the LE range. I asked Yvo at Elise-Shop about them yesterday funnily enough, after checking out SELOC to see whether the earlier fitting problems had been resolved. For some reason Corbeau refuse to update/re-do their moulds to make them fit S2 style runners despite pressure from everyone. Though I think they've actually fixed the earlier problems about bolt holes not being in the right place and being too inset that Mark Verboom had. Yvo can make up suitable 340R style runners suitable for RHD but getting the two subframes adds another £300+ to the price, which then makes them very expensive if you also want to get a retrim on them.

And there's the reason I still have standard seats in the car.

Even the genuine Lotus items can be fussy about subframes. Can't believe how many versions of subframes Lotus have used over the years. :beat:

I think the Reverie "fitting kit" might have been part of the issue with VIX's H111 Monaco seats. They were really nice and he'd had them trimmed in leather and grey alcantara (might actually be what they use as one of the pics on their site). But, they came out at the same or possibly even more than the DtT seats do/did.

So Lotus (as in Lotus UK Plc rather than a dealer) tell me they're not able to sell me an Exige seat

"we cannot retail Exige seats for a VX220 for safety reasons. We can investigate some availability of replacement VX220 seats, although contractually you would need to buy these through Vauxhall, but we can certainly tap up our contacts to see what might be achievable."

I have a feeling that tapping up Vxl won't do much, but I may as well let them try and see if anything comes of it - though the only seats I'd want would be the VXR spec - just not in red.

G

That's odd. Lotus Sport & Performance fitted one in my car years ago while they were waiting on the trim shop finishing my Corbeau (driver) and 340r (passenger) seats. A straight fit with the Exige subframe.
