One of these or used Evora... Of course the Evora, but M135i does seem very competitive if you want a new car...

although mine is only a 120D chavsport, its a really wonderful thing to drive and I do wonder why it took so long for us to sway round to a BMW  Yes its sh*t to look at from the outside but when I'm in it I cant see that

How does the M135 and your 135 differ? Are they the same engine, turbo etc? Have you officially timed your run to 100 as that time is extremely good. I may look at getting one myself.

In terms of the obvious doors and seats, the biggest differences under the skin are things like brakes and internals. The 135i coupe has 6 pots while the M has 4. The engines have two codes. N55 is the unit on the M and the latest coupe. It's a single turbo cast piston etc motor. On the M it gives 320bhp. The N54 is on the older 135i and M coupe. It's a twin turbo with some forged bits. Power was 306bhp but I think mine is well north of that. The M has the offer of the auto box which is ace, but i prefer the manual. Both have electronic diffs I think, and I'm not sure what suspension differences there are. Mine are timed times lol but on the speedo from rolling to 100 on track.

Not for looks...but I do like them. Maybe I will have to get one next year. What mods has yours ha....intercooler, remap, exhaust etc?

Interesting thread here. Thought I would share my thoughts if you dont mind?

I also drove the M135I and was extremely impressed. Sounds epic and really does fly. I would definitely consider one when the prices for a used one drops a bit more. However, to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons, its also worth considering the 123D version. Thats the 2.0LTR diesel with twin turbos. Mid range punch is highly impressive and 50MPG genuinely possible. Its also much cheaper on tax and insurance. I think it could be a perfect second car prospect?

I agree with most that they aren't the best looking car on the road but I have the vx if I fancy turning heads! This is more about the engineering, practicality of a 5 door and performance that puts this car in serious sleeper territory. The fact that there are some deals to be had though is a big bonus as if I'm honest I wasn't specifically looking at these, but stumbling across various threads turned my head! I just don't know if I need a 320bhp hot hatch as a daily work horse, feel almost that I'm being a bit greedy having two special cars when the daily could be any practical hatch/ saloon. Just think this car might be too good to miss and that's before I've even test drove one.

The 123d is a fair shout Jon, not sure what kind of deals are to be had on those but maybe worth a look, just seems like the m135 is a serious bit of kit though.

A good friend of mind had the 123d which I was very impressed with, would make a great runabout! 135 sounds like a monster!

My Bro had a 1M coupe in white remapped to 415bhp and that was awesome. Liked it so much I got a 120d msport coupe this year for the other half but the run flat tyres are awful.

I've been in a 123d which with a maxitune remap from Ecotune  http://www.ecotune-scotland.co.uk

It was one of the engineer's cars from Darren Wood BMW specalist in Manchester. It had 275bhp and 520Nm torque. It was seriously quick and super reliable! Still returned 60mpg too

Why are the runflats awful? I don't mind ours, aside from the fact they wear a bit quick.

I find the run flats give you bugger all grip and numb feeling. Mine would spin on speed bumps triggering the traction control. I assume they are just too stiff on the sidewalls.

The g/f had runflats on her mini and we (I) decided to remove them too. The ride was harsh as f**k and handling felt really off.

Changing the tyres actually transformed the car more than I was expecting. Best modification ever!

That really is an amazing deal! You would expect to pay double that, wouldn't you?

Never realised the car was THAT fast either.

Its gone up since yesterday by £7 to £216.99/260.39 - What a bargain.

Runflats, especially the first or early generation examples are far heavier than conventional rubber
