I dont find the tyres numb, then again I have very low expectations of anything sub £1million

Granted I wouldnt buy runflats again unless they were cheaper than normals though.

Biggest difference with runflats is rotational mass and the way they thump into potholes etc, making the ride firm as fcuk. Neer had a problem with feedback, feel or grip in my experiences.

So for the tight Scotsman who doesn't really go for finance deals, does the offer on page 1 mean you are effectively just hiring the car for a period of 24 months (or whatever) for £260 / month, and you hand it back afterwards? Seems too simple... Show me the catch please.

Hand it back after 24 months or option to extend for another year and after that can hand back or buy outright.

Yes the ride is firm, but its not terrible imho... mainly when you consider the 'msport' has had its dampers swapped for scffold pole anyway

I don't mind the runflats on my 120d on 17" wheels may be worse on 18's

Run flats in my opinion ruin the feel of the car due to the thicker side walls that it entails.

Anyone thats had them is likley to have experience the pressure warning symbol coming on like a Christmas light festival on many occasions due again to the stiff side walls leading to rim leaks over time....

Like other people have said, the car is often transformed after swapping with good, normal tyres. You are buggered if you get a puncture though...

That remapped 123d gets me thinking.... Awesome! :)

I think the run flats offer less grip and the fronts seem to ware quick. I just dont feel confident when cornering with these tyres.

I have had 2 120d's now and really like them considering what they are, I have driven a standard 123d and wasn't overly impressed but i'm sure a mapped one would be great, I may get my 120d mapped next year as had a 330d done and it transformed the car.

I've got a 320d M sport convertible, it came with 19"alloys & very low profile runflats, the ride is firm but better than an Audi A3 2.0T that I had with sports suspension a few years back. It's the rear tyres that wear on the insides on mine rather than the fronts, grip seems fine but the thing does weigh 1700kgs plus

I drove one as my company car option as fuel economy and company car tax are not applicable. But ultimately they are ugly and there is next to no boot so despite their swiftness there are better cars about. Went for 335 convertible which is in a different class for not much money on my scheme.

Managed to get a test drive in an auto today at a local dealer. Asked for some quotes on a pcp for a 5 door manual, came out at around £200 a month dearer than the deal I've been offered by g2l. Salesmans jaw hit the floor when I showed him the proof in writing! Told me there is no way they could even get near it.

Loved it :) Must say I've never really driven an auto before but the gearbox in this thing is sublime. Incredibly smooth changes and acceleration as you would expect to be honest. It was just a nice place to be sat in, quiet, refined, especially when cruising and a lovely growl tone when applying the throttle. Having said that I still think I'd go for the manual even though it seems most are going for the auto. Wife sat in the back, a little nervous about it being a 3 ltr twin turbo! But afterwards I think even she was impressed deep down. Plenty of leg room in the back, I'm 6ft and sat behind the drivers seat after my test drive and there was plenty of room for my lanky legs. Boot space was plenty for my needs aswell. Ticks all the boxes if I'm honest.

I think the twin turbo is easier to tune to higher outputs though.
