6+23?

Surely that's why the headline figure looks so good. They've added 3 or 4 extra payments in , up front, over regular contract lease type rates.
Is it not a deposit of ~£1250 then 23 payments of your £209?
It's 6 months worth of payments as an initial up front payment (not a deposit)

The 1 series is too ugly to ever want to do 10k miles per annum in, so you should be safe. :D
Non-refundable deposit :D

See, that's where you are wrong...would you like a 1 series sitting in your driveway for all the neighbours to see? Would you like to look at it on the drive from inside the house? Didn't think so...you'd drive it away from your house, far away...and quickly too

Pretty quick time but it nearly killed JC at about 125 mph when he spun it. It didn't get a good review on top gear which I am surprised at.

Anything but bone dry and that time would have not been as good as it was.

Talk about stating the obvious! :-) Had ours for five months. It's an absolute superb all rounder. You will not be disappointed.

That's why we shouldn't get too excited about the lap time, because we live in a country that's not bone dry, by any stretch of the imagination.

What's your point?

All the fast lap times are dry, its a pretty good comparison between the cars.

You might not realise this, but the 'w' after lap times on Top gear indicates wet.

My point is that the car is pretty stymied when it rains with all that power going through the rears, so getting excited about its performance on a bone dry track is entirely missing the point.

You've never driven one then.

It's brilliant in the wet, extemely fast and very stable. Its also huge fun as you can really play with oversteer angles if you turn TC off.

Don't believe everything you see on TG ;)

Well, all the fast times are not dry, if we are splitting hairs. The LFA was tracked wet.

As for playing with oversteer angles, you obviously don't realise that a) you shouldn't be doing that on the road, and B) 90% of drivers aren't as much of a driving god as the other 10% that you are in. Giving your average man on the street a 135i will see him/her either driving it to 25% of its limits or ending up in a ditch.

Then you add in BMWs wonderful DSC and any goon can drive it how they like in the dry or the wet, pretty much flat out. On splitting hairs, re the drifting point, driving at 25% of its limits sounds about right for driving one of these on the road. I don't think your licence would be valid for long if you drove one at 100%

Most of the company cars that are being selected here at the moment are M135s, low purchase price and great co2 levels. None of them are driving gods and all them will drive them like they stole them. (none of them will ever touch the TC button either)

The VX NA is much more dangerous car than an M135.

my brother in law had a 330Ci 10 years ago.... he drove it like an utter bellend wet or dry. In the wet the TC light was flashing its ass off but the car stayed on the road and we didnt die (im very thankfull for Bosch's calibration team). The same would go for the latest generation stuff.

Infact I'm impressed with the TC etc on the 120D from 2006.

I think Myles you've hit the nail on the head there and paid the m135i a massive back handed compliment. The fact that you are even mentioning it in respect of an LFA speaks volumes. All things being equal, rain or not, comparatively the little m bats way above it's average. It'll positively hammer a VX220 turbo in all manner of conditions. :-)

And in the wet, the new pilot super sports perform superbly and in total harmony with sport plus and DSC. Myles - was it wet when you drove the M135i?
