And in the wet, the new pilot super sports perform superbly and in total harmony with sport plus and DSC. Myles - was it wet when you drove the M135i?

It's always wet.

Drove a M135i, good drive to be honest.  It sounds great and the eight speed gearbox is as good as reported, but the interior is quite plasticy and it is not an M car - it is just not special or extreme enough.  The car I drove could have done with new tyres, as the backs were around the three mm, but the back ends steps out very easily and very controled, but it could really do with a lsd.  Would I buy one, no, but maybe in a few years for a cheap £10000 fun car.  The one I drove was £26000 and eighteen months old and had 18000 on the clock and still felt factory fresh.  Personally I don't mind the looks, but it is no stunner from the front.

I test drove a black one and it didn't look as nice imo, plus the vx is black so gone for the opposite this time!

No service and tbf even the dealer said aslong as it is up to temp before giving it the beans it will be fine. Officially the advise is to keep under 4.5 rpm for the first 1200 miles. Even sticking close to that this thing really does shift.

I also have one on order, a 3dr in Estoril Blue, should arrive at the start of April.  I was very impressed with the way it drove, comfortable when needed to be and performance was very good.  As a complete package, performance, spec, tax bracket and cost it seemed to tick a lot of boxes for me at least.

Well mine finally turned up today, its a long stretch from the VX but makes a good noise and certainly can shift.  Need to find some time to get a few miles under its belt and open it up a bit out of town!

How is it a few months in James? Keep looking for more good deals on these but nothing doing as far as I can tell.

To be honest I am really pleased with it.

It has a great driving position, really feel like I sit nice and low down in the car.  It goes well and engine sounds great especially at higher revs.  Managed 37/38mpg on a motorway (80/85) run which I think is pretty good.

There are a couple of things I dont like, the first being the seat adjustment.  A small thing but it is just hard to make incremental changes to position due to how the adjusters work, but might just be me.  It also doesnt have lumber support in the seats (could have been an option, possibly).

Spec wise, mine is very basic, I only added the driver comfort pack (cruise control, rear parking sensors, auto lights/wipers).  Due to the lease deal the best price was based around a base spec car, once you started loading options the price really shot up.  If I were to do it again I would upgrade the speaker system.  Coming from an Audi with a B&O system and a Volvo before that, the quality really is poor, but again it is a personal thing.

I have always had a daft weekend car and a sensible daily and I must say that this car does fill the void in the middle very well as far as I am concerned.  Having never driven an M3 or similar I must say that once the lease is up I think I might have to look more in that direction in the future.
