The cams in our b207 are simply sh*t for SC Our z22se cams are better It remains to be seen how much better the stage 2 lsj cams are compared with z22se which will also depend on 2.0 or 2.2 remember these ZZP cams are developed for 2.4 So I'm guessing they will be better on 2.2 rather than 2.0 Unsure where the standard lsj cams fit in to the list if there better than z22se we will be all happy if there worse I'm guessing we might be happy But not as happy as we thought we were going to be. If the standard lsj cams are better than z22se we will all be very happy as we were before this mid understanding came up

So in otherwords these will be slightly better rather than massively better than the Z22se cams?

No idea what the specs are for standard Z22SE cams or for that matter B207R cams and B207whateverthefcuk cams you've already got in your new engine.

b207r = stage less

z22se = stage standard

blower = stage +30bhp

zzp stage 2 = similar/same/slightly better/slightly worse than blower cams

I think we should all remember cams are only a small part of our builds but still affective

I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the bhp gained from their compcams  :)

  As said here, the difference (or suitability for your particular engine/driving) between ZZP LSJ St2 or the Comp Blower cam set is a different discussion altogether (and a bit late after ordering all the cams... :wacko:)

Can't wait for this discussion

What I do know is, in a Z22SE, the standard Z22SE cam's worked reasonably well the B207R cams did nothing more the CompCams blower cams gave 30bhp the minute they went in Whether the B207R cams could have been timed differently to produce something in the Z22SE is a matter of speculation. Whether any of the above applies directly to using the B207 engine, I've no idea.

It very much depends how you want to drive your car and how your engine is configured.

Doesn't really help to buy a hot race cam that delivers top power around 8000rpm if your rev limit is @7200 and you lost your low end grunt for road driving... :unsure:

:yeahthat:

Oh to have an engine dyno with a fully operational B207/LSJ/Z22SEhybrid engine hooked up to it to test all of these things. :wacko:

The 2.0 engine should be good to rev to 8500, but the 2.2 has a max of 7800rpm.

Ouch. I hope it sounds slightly more willing than the strangled asthmatic cat noise that the Z22SE makes after 7,000rpm.

These cams are still mild so unlikely to have a big effect on low down power. Can the SC run up to 8000 rpm? I thought they would be well out of there efficiency range by then especially with a smaller pulley. Still yet to see a dyno of a 2.2 of any type making more power above 7400 rpm!

Yeah, the SC is another factor in the equation. :happy:

And then the fact that a particular cam behaves different in a 2.0 application than with 2.2 (or 2.4) displacement...

(did I mention camshaft timing already?? :wacko: )

Upload/gallery function is broken (and sh*t even when it works). Host pictures on a proper photo hosting service like Photobucket and use the img tags to embed a picture on here.
