Nice to see you have stayed with motronic, albeit the 7 series. All the tuning software and tools I have will work perfectly with this too , when you want to get a bit more involved with adjustments.

It wad something like that. And it was owned by a dealership before me.A little late now but just to fill in a gap in your original purchase story. Nidd Vale use (they still might) to run a huge wholesale department, a chap called Simon use to bulk buy at closed (restricted access) GM/NQ auctions then offer the stock to everyone & his dog in the trade. The wholesale section was at a separate site to the dealership, which is probably why they had no knowledge of the car when you rang.

That looks like a whole lot of fun.
Looking forward to seeing some footage (might be a while with the current dire weather forecast though!)

Impressive work, truly impressive, it´s like a brand new car.
How long have you been working on this?
This is not a DSG gearbox? What did you use to attache the Mesh for the heater intake?
And how did you solve the driveshaft?

Dsg fits but very heavy box and load of wiring fun to get it working in the vx220 I bonded intake covers with sikaflex Shafts I measured about 10 times in all suspension angles, machined a sleeve up to join the vaux and vag shafts and took to super Dave to weld. Once happy I got drawn up amd some s155 steel custom jobbie s machined and balanced before building up with new outers and low mileage inner vag ones DGImpressive work, truly impressive, it´s like a brand new car. Absolutely brilliant work from all involved!! Surely a weight saving over the standard VXT too!? Hopefully see it in the flesh some point soon. Must resist sending a PM to Dunc and send my car down along with a few blank cheques!

I'm so glad I got more involved, don't think I would have had the same respect for the car if I had just left it all to DG. Learned a bit along the way too.
I will update with any additions I make, although funds are low right now so the big stuff will have to wait.
To do asap...
Sort air stuck in ABS (I think?)
Sound proof bulkhead and refit modded plastic cover.
Look at a cowl or something for the air filter to muffle noise a bit, it's kind of nice but a bit too much for cruising at the min. (ideas welcome )
Re-trim, mod and fit centre console/ gear shift cover.
Log as much as possible with vag-com.
Seal and fit hardtop.
For the future....
Re-trim interior or parts thereof.
Lower driver seat a bit if possible.
Fit anti sub straps to current 4 points.
Geo
RR session and possible tweaks.
And possibilities.....
LSD
TC
One piece undertray/diffuser.
Who knows.....

I got a BMC carbon enclosed airbox for my 'charged 2.2 because I couldnt stand the whine. Made a big difference. They have versions which would take 400 odd brake no probs...
