Super progress. You put your cc pump in exactly same place I did although I did put foam rubber underneath to try & insulate noise into cabin. I'm not sure if it's best to have bolted up the manifold bracket before you put the charger on? It's also a lot easier to get to it with the alternator off.

CC pump seemed to fit perfectly on that bracket. I have some rubber round the clamp but may add something else to shield noise.

Not sure if my description was very good on the manifold bracket - I fitted the manifold bracket to the block - not the manifold. The strange thing here was that I had bought the alignment bungs from courtenay on the understanding that the block would need M6 bolts - but mine took M8's so I have some spare bungs. Maybe I bolted it in completely the wrong place... Having come in yesterday and thought about it, I'm fairly certain that I'll have to take the alternator back off to get that bottom bolt into the manifold to bracket anyway so will soon find out.

Ah the alignment bungs are for bolting the manifold to the head. The holes in the manifold are larger than the bolts if I recall correctly so these bungs you put in two of the holes to align the manifold to the head correctly.

Does this connect to the throttle body? How do I extend it?

That looks like the fuel vent pipe? If so checked my build thread as to what I did with mine: cut original plug off (has a handy 90 degree bend which fits perfectly on the charger throttle body), cut off pipe about 4 inches at the valve end and connected the two with 8mm fuel hose.

Major update....  She LIVES!!!!

I've got loads to do still especially sorting out those fuel pipes. I was genuinely shocked when I pushed the button and it fired straight up and idled perfectly!

Piccy from the top with the loom sorted out:-

Very good.

Where is that bottom hose in the SC actuator plugged in?

It's not attached, just tucked it out the way as it didn't want to come off easily. It's not supposed to be connected is it?

It's not moved forward much since the last update but I have received a delivery from the Batman which is the final piece in the jigsaw (Thanks again for sorting at last minute Joe!).

Also, I've got some new Servo hose after chopping the ends off the old hose. I'm thinking that this explains the whistling sound on part throttle and hoping the brakes will feel a bit better now (the hoses were leaking badly!)

Nice work, read from start to finish! Where did you order your ECU from? I'm struggling to see a 'buy' link anywhere. Is it still about £700? I might do the same as you and get it first before doing the charger conversion.

Thanks - it's been a long time since I first started this but I've enjoyed learning and understanding.

My overall budget is officially completely and utterly blown! I started with the intention of a budget build and have ended up with the dutch ECU , new pro-alloy main rad and pro-alloy CC rad, alloy header tank and replacement exhaust. None of which were really necessary but I figured that I plan to keep the car for a long time, so it's worth investing some extra £££ into it.

Total cost is currently £3,809.82 - I'm sure it can be done for at least £1k less but I wasn't happy with the compromises needed..

To get the ECU, you just need to e-mail Peter ( peter at munckhof.demon.nl) edited mail address to avoid spamming to his inbox...

I think the approach you have taken is the correct one, as you would likely look to replace perceived weak points of the budget system going forward anyway.
