One thing I have wondered is The fact your not running a Tmap means the car is less likely to retard due to the inlet temps now Are we who are running a Tmap missing a trick or are we over analysing things

Or is the loss of power simply down to the hot intake temps or is it the Ecu protecting the engine or both

Just reduce the areas over one by 1.77 from the 1.77 x2 Then carry out a other power run And look at results

After the results from that power run Reduce anything over 1 by 0.35 But increase anything less than 0.5 knock by 0.35

The more you fine tune this the better your map will be ( closer to best available ) But it's also good to do a other fuel learn and knock Learn sessions after making big changes.

also plot your WOT boost pressure so you can home in on your peak map

After you have done the WOT mapping you can add ignition at lower pressures throughout the rev range followed by a final knock learn session across the rev and pressure ranges to pull out any excess knock under non WOT conditions

Thanks Chris. I'll go and annoy the locals with several full throttle speed runs and report back!

Just to add that the power drop 200rpm before the limiter is consistent. If I raise the limit, the torque carries on. I'm convinced the power drop is either a measurement issue or a soft limiter. Either way, I'm happier leaving the limit at 6.8k and will optimise below that. I'll try a power run without hitting the limiter so hard or in 3rd gear to see if it goes away.

The 2 runs below are from the same day with a 6.7k and 7k limit.. both dip 200rpm rpm before the limit.

Did a few more runs this evening and the strange drop off at the top was being caused by hitting the rev limiter and not getting off the throttle quick enough.

x2 different runs, the first trying to lift just before the limiter and the second bashing the limiter...

So the run where you haven't hit the limiteror predicted the limiter looks quite a bit better/smoother right up at the top ?

Is that hitting 280? Are you worried about your engine?

Correct, although it's not just right at the top. I've tried repeating the measurements with hitting the limiter vs not and the readings are consistently different from 6k through to 6.8k

Are you releasing the throttle slightly Or snapping it shut

No. The 180 was logged on a 1 way run and must have been slightly down hill at the end, hence the strange wiggle. Plus all measurements yesterday looked a bit high compared to previous runs - I may have got temp/humidity values wrong.. Max power is around 250 ish...

Snapping it shut otherwise it'll hit the limiter.

You will be running more power because of the cooler damper air I'm yet to prove this bit the higher power cars suffering more especially the Harroped cars I estimated I'm losing 60 hp between what I had at snetterton compared with now on the same map
