Fair enough. The raiser plates made a big difference for me and they are quick and easy to fit as long as you have someone to pull you out of the footwell :)

I finally have 2 keys and 2 working alarm fobs!

I managed to pick up a new alarm from the lotus motorsport auction and as the sun was out today decided to get it fitted along with a new sensor unit as well as program a spare key. I've only been putting it off for a few months.

So all interior out including dash and everything got a good clean and scrub while I was there including removal of an old tracker system (anyone want a tracker for free?).

Looking good again now and with working alarm.

Next job:
- Get lower rear clam painted end of June as the laquer has crazed.
- that's it... then it's up for sale :( if I can bear to part with it after fixing all the things that have been bugging me for years.

Best use of a squash racquet!

You're not going for an Exige like everyone else are you?

An Exige would be nice but it needs 5 seats and a 2-ton tow capacity.... The vx was my weekend and track car but things have changed... weekend fun and track duty are now fulfilled by an x-trail and Caterham. The plus of this route is that the whole family can get involved (and the journey to the track is more comfortable too) Plus of course racing is swallowing cash (especially after the last race) so selling the vx will help fund next season. I'll miss it for evening runs and for the looks and thumbs ups it gets wherever it goes but I've probably done under 100 miles since the beginning of the year and only managed 1500 last year due to the vx national!

Be a shame to see you go mate, keep us up to date on the racing though and all the best.

Vx has gone :( end of an era! Exported to the Netherlands for a life in LHD form. One less vx in the U.K. should help values! I'll head over to the exit interview shortly. Took it for a final drive yesterday with each of my sons having a special drive out. Even though it was in the rain and at night it was memorable... My youngest is 6 and really likes the vx. I've had it for as long as he can remember so he was getting upset at the idea of it not being part of the family. It's just 'my car'. I think they all had dibs on it for themselves in a few years... Really sad to let it go today. These cars really get under your skin!

I always enjoyed your track videos! Pity you'll no longer be the track underdog in a lowly VX.. ;)
