Well if mine scrubs the outside and yours scrubs the inside then there must be a track setting that will give even wear. Either that or we swap wheels every few months :-) Do you run high spring rates?re:tyres mine wear the insides on the rear , with the left taking a lot of the load. Could be toe scrub , 2.5° not a lot of camber

Still looking for an alternator.
Will the z22yh alternator fit? It looks the same... http://www.ebay.co.u...=item43ca8cd20a
Happy to buy new from autovaux but from an earlier thread it looks like these are also re-manufactured and therefore not necessarily the smaller 100 amp casing?

Brief update.
I got an adapter from Oakmere to fit the LSJ 68mm TB on my otherwise standard (ish) NA. I wanted to do this for a couple of reasons:
- get the job of rewiring the TB out the way before the main SC conversion (check)
- Test that the TB actually works before the main SC conversion (check)
- Test the affect on the NA given that it's easy to do with the dutch software. Reading on here, in the past people have spent time porting the standard throttle body and adding the 65mm TB and I wanted to know if this could make a difference on an otherwise standard engine. (conclusions below...) . The result could have been to either destroy all driveability, lose mid range, gain top end power etc...
Note:- In adding the TB, it has meant that I used the SC intake pipe (but old K&N filter which was the right size for the enlarged pipework anyway) which may also affect the power by moving away from the standard 'cobra' intake pipework.
I fitted it yesterday evening. I was 'pottering' about and it was done in about 2 hours including a very nervous period of pulling the pins out of the TB connector and switching them round.
Fitted (coolant still over full - I know):-
Tonight I switched the TB over in the software (to the 65mm TB option) and did some power runs (no fuel learn yet). The run below shows the difference between the power run tonight with the 68mm TB vs the last run I did on the OEM TB:
In conclusion.. it made no difference to power what so ever anywhere in the rev range.
It's worth noting though that the throttle response feels a little 'softer' but then I haven't done a fuel learn session so there may be some benefits available but it seems like the restriction is elsewhere - probably the manifold or just the standard cams/head?

While I was there, it was the first time I've looked at the air filter.
It's absolutely disgusting!
So - it's a filthy K&N. Given the previous comments on here about aftermarket air filters killing engines, there must be loads of crap in the intake.... NO - it's pristine in the intake!

Finally - I still need an alternator.
Got almost everything else and going to start the conversion next week.
Anyone know if the z22yh alternator will fit?

Manifold. You need the 2.4
Agreed - I was expecting to find that was the result, but while it was all just sitting around it seemed a shame not to bolt it on and measure the result.
The LSJ manifold with m62 'intake pipe' should do the job

Stop mucking around NA and do what hundreds have done before you.
I will when I have a 100amp alternator....
On the plus side, a big box of bits from Courtenay is due to arrive on Friday

I'm sure this has been covered but I'm on the train and struggling with search on my phone... so, what's the correct wire to use for extending the injector loom, throttle body wires etc.. Is there an obvious place to get a selection of blue, brown, black wires etc that are the right rating and type to extend the loom accordingly?
Anyone got a link to amazon/eBay etc?
Progress update..
Started on Monday evening and got the front clam off and the interior out. Another couple of hours last night and with help from my grinder, the read clam is off.
Massive Thanks to Stuwy for his help! There's no way I'd even have the front clam off without him!
Some pictures for now. .

Tuesday:
I won't get anymore done now until the weekend as I'm away with work :-(

0.5 mm multicore wire for the injectors, 1.0mm multicore for the MAP sensor and fuel vent. Colours vary, I would just get a selection of different coloured wire and match as best as possible, from memory the exact wire colours are hard to find (injector wires are yellow with different coloured stripe)

I bought a whole load of wire from Maplins. Then decided best bet would be to buy an old loom so as I can match the wiring exactly (ended up with a loom from an Astra for £20 delivered). Not the cheapest option, but at least it will all match up

http://www.polevolt...._to_length.html
Get a meter of half the colours, from memory the injector wires are something like yellow/brown yellow/black, yellow/red and yellow/blue, so get black, brown, yellow, blue, add a few more meters of black as you'll use that for a few other things, and 3 meters of 1.0mm green for the MAP and fuel vent. will also need 2 m of red 1.0 mm and black for the CC pump.
