Things didnt go quite to plan on Sunday in Team Trophy. Damp/wet qualifying. Jez went out first and got us 15th on the grid. I went out and could do no better until the last lap and managed to get us up to 12th. Race time (dry) and I grid up and realise because the vx is so low I cant see the start light over the Focus in front of me so have to wait until he goes and then I go. Managed to get up to 10th by the first corner and am in amongst some serious cars (M3's, ex BTCC Supercopa, class A 968's). Manage to avoid contact whilst the rest of the cars around me seem to touch each other at some point. All settles down and I'm in about 12th again.
Last three laps of my session and I have a right battle with an M3, I've never driven so hard. I come in to pit and we're 4th in class with the next two class B cars close in front for Jez to chase down. Jez goes out and puts in a few good laps closing in on the two class B cars in front. He's right up the chuff of the M3 and a back marker in a mk4 Fiesta with a misfire doing 10 to 15 mph moves over to let them past. M3 goes past and immediately the Fiesta violently turns left to go off the track straight into the front offside of the VX. Two bent wishbones, snapped steering arm, damaged wheel, broken front clam, a steering rack just to be safe. Apparently the Fiesta driver only saw the M3!!!!
So repair work has already started and the car will be ready for Oulton Park on Easter Monday. Thanks to Elliot (firthy) for coming to watch and thanks to Kieran for going home and getting us a wheel bolt.

Oh no That was a new front clam wasn't it?
New jonnyboy lightweight clam but I must say it remained in one piece. It acted exactly as he said it would. Basically it got well pushed in but sprung back out in one piece. It has a 12 inch crack along the top, a few 2 inch cracks inwards around the wheel arch, headlamp mount has snapped and there is a 3 inch rip on the front going out from the headlamp hole. 3 hours and it will be repaired. The 211 steering arm is unbelieveable, you can see where its been twisted and just ripped in half. No chassis damage.. She'll look all beautiful again for Oulton Park!! Oh and the Fiesta needs a re-shell, where the B post meets the sill was pushed in a foot!!!!

Fcuksticks. Glad the damage isn't too bad. How's the ITB engine going? Decent performance improvement over last year?

The performance difference was tremendous, stage 2 cams and a remap and it flies. We had to ballast 75kg or go in with the big boys in class A. No thanks!!

Presumably you can use the ballast to your advantage by spreading the ballast to even the corner weights as applicable?
Last Thursdays job!!
