Looks good! Do you lift before that bit of a left kink on the oval or is it flat in your car. Interesting about the ZZR's, I looked at them for my car but can't get the required sizes. Did you give the camera car a small shunt at one point? It's had to tell on the video but in the middle of one corner everything slows down. Congrats on the win!!!!You only see the vx in the first ten minutes but, yes, we did get our first win and then a 9th and third in class in Team Trophy on Sunday. We used ZZRs instead of 888s for the first time and they were the difference I thinkI can't be watching a 50 minute video, but I read on SELOC of a WIN?

Flat in 4th for the oval going into fifth on the exit and touching 125 before braking for the hairpin. The camera car made 3 movements to block my overtake on one corner which he's not supposed to do so I gave him a whack to remind him!!!! He'd do the same to me, he's well known for it!

Well done mark good to see you everything looked ok from on top of the garages on saturday. Sunday was hectic as we had problems with my mates tvr before the race.
Thanks, good to meet you too. All went to plan on Saturday but on Sunday we were one of the victims of two safety cars out on track at the same time. We built up a good distance to the next car to be 2nd in class and 7th in race but lost it all under the SC for ten minutes

Well done on a great result. What did you make of the track? I'm there tomorrow, never really liked in when I've been before, hopefully I can get a similar result to you! Not sure I see much of a blocking manoeuvre, just turns in a little early but he is doing that everywhere (which isn't helping his case putting the power down) and his driving goes a bit to sh*t when you put pressure on him. To really get around the problem getting past you are better to put more commitment into the pass and get fully alongside by the turn in point then there is no chance of getting squeezed. Remember he is allowed to make one move, so consider your pass and be ready to react, but the sooner you make a move and the more positive you are with the placement of your car the more likely you are to make a successful, clean pass.

I thought the infield was a bit of an after thought. It is quite technical but IMO its not clear where they want you to go in respect of cones etc. When we were there the banked corner had a lot of debris on it if you went of line and I mean a lot!! There is a large repair to it just about where you turn in in the form of a piece of tarmac about 12ft by 12ft. At the last hairpin just before the chicane its easy to exceed track limits by going over the dotted line into the alternative pit entrance. The blocking wasnt that obvious from the video but in the post race "chat" in the parc ferme he admitted it. TBH I found it quite easy to get up the inside when turning off the banked part into the infield so I just waited for that, a place where I got past quite a few cars on both days.
Oulton Park next on the 14th June, had two seconds there, one last year and one this year, so here's hoping we can go one better. Cadwell after that on the 28th where I had a big crash last year!!!!

How did you get on at Oulton yesterday? I saw the VX parked up and kept on meaning to come over and say hello.
I was a bit busy as instead of working I was making my race debut in an SR3. What a mega track Oulton is!!

After Rockingham 2 weeks ago the engine developed a bit of a death rattle and was breathing heavily, lots of smoke out of the breather. We weren't able to change the engine in time so, as I'd paid the entry I decided to race anyway. Only did three laps in qualifying to try and save the engine and qualified 15th out of 16th. Even after just three laps the engine sounded worse and was breathing even heavier, I really didnt think it would make it the 25 minutes to the mandatory pit stop. Anyway it got to half hour before the race and it looked like rain so we took the ZZRs off and put the R1Rs on. Ten minutes into the race the sun came out so I've got the wrong tyres on and a fcuked engine. The plan was to just go round very slowly, short shifting (I didnt rev it over 6k in the whole race) and as there were only 5 class B cars in the race hope that 2 dropped out and we'd get a class trophy. Thats exactly what happened (one crashed, another had mechanical failure). We had to put over a litre of oil in it at the pit stop, I got lapped four times, in the last 4 laps the engine went onto 3 cylinders, I went from 2;17 laps to 2;34, it wouldnt rev over 4.5k but it made it to the finish line and we got a trophy. Just goes to show, anything can happen in a one hour race!!

Wow, sounds eventful! Well done on nursing it to the end We had a 90 min endurance race, and I ran out of fuel coming out of turn one 2 or 3 laps from the end! Still managed to get my first signature on my race license though as I had completed enough of the race to classify
When are you next out on track? Any different plans on the new engine?

Next outing is Cadwell on 28th June if I get the engine in in time then I've entered an all commers race at Snetterton 300 on 20th July (20 mins quali and 2 x 20 min races) and then a 44 car grid Team Trophy race on 16th August at Brands GP which is the Lotus Festival weekend.

Need a new engine or can this one be repaired?
I've got one ready to go in. Vocky did the chains and a balancer delete last week and I've just got to put my cams and valve springs in it and put it in. I'll get him to rebuild the existing engine to a stronger spec for next season
