Well if you need an optical illusion on your sideMight have smaller hands..............but it only makes some things look bigger to me..................Getting servo off was a bit of a pain, but got there in the end - again big thanks to Matt for this. He must have smaller hands than me

MB mentioned that, but I reckon it's been so well protected by grease and dirt it'll clean up nicelyyou missed the bonnet lock

Post of the week!
Nice work Graeme, I just hope you can put it all back together again
Thanks mate.
Me too. Before I started all this I expected to be bagging individual bolts and labelling away - but it seems MB is confident we don't need to be quite so OCD about it all.
Amazing work GL.
Thanks mate
Some good work going on there. Can the abs bracket be removed without having to disconect any of the brake pipes?
Yes ABS bracket/surrcound comes off with brake pipes in place

Graeme, can you find out from Matt if the powder coat on the brakes will put up with the heat from a hard track day. Will get mine done while its in, if yes.

Powdercoating only really falls down when it's prone to chipping in corrosive environments, as the powdercoating doesn't chemically bond to the metal substrate, so once it's chipped the whole thing can delaminate.

Tiny update, picked up two TAT diffusers (one short round and one long straight) from JG on Monday night. Gives me a chance to choose on the car - whichever isn't used will be for sale later in the year
Also managed to grab a couple of hours at MBR on Tuesday night, but didn't get that much done - partly as steam cleaning stuff is time consuming for what looks like little result, and partly because I spent too much time gassing with Matt and George about trying to go sideways
Anyway, got the steam cleaner on the front chassis, crashbox and front 'bay' (battery, heater area etc).
Chassis isn't perfectly cleaned, but close enough i reckon. Just need to add some wax or something (JG ) to make it, and keep it clean and shiny for the future.
So here's driver's side chassis
Also managed to give the crashbox a quick steam clean, and can actually see the weave again now - before it was just black with grime
And the steam cleaner is actually working - the nozzle allowing me to get into some of the nooks and crannies of areas that I previously thought were clean and shiny. It's amazing what crap is hiding in the corners though.
Away with work last night and tonight, but planning on spending a few hours on Friday night and then Saturday to get some more done. Will probably take some tar remover to get rid of the odd stubborn tar/melted tyre spot on the chassis.

Pleased to see you haven't removed the aluminium section under the roll bar. I've seen a few posts from people saying it's not needed. I disagree, I think that without it the crash box has potential to fold under the car and launch it in a crash.

I'm guessing he has on the other side, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to remove the bar.
Easily rivited back in place though
