just sorting out insurance for this thing - think I'm going to be butt-fcuked thanks to the mods lol and was checking spec for mods list and saw this...

So for the most part, the budget for this build is what I'd call sensible - depending on what happens with the paint it has a chance to come in under £20k thanks to lots of second hand parts as pictured above.

But then mission creep could fcuk that right up :D

Hahahahahahahahahaha mission creep :ffs: :beat:  :D  :D :D :D

So I went to see the car today.

Some will be aware, but Lee has been finishing off most of the mechanicals for me, and the car is on his drive (please no one go and try and steal it)

He's been working like a trooper, with some proper progress made in the last few weeks that has me feeling much happier about the project now. Fuel system has been installed, as have the AP four pots and two pot rears with spot calipers etc, plus the Mocal oil cooler etc. Also while the engine was already fitted, some of the ancilaries were fitted and today when I was there some of the fluids were poured in where they were needed also. Bascially, mechanically we are very nearly there.

He even fitted my steering wheel, which looks gorgeous.

So at the moment we're still waiting on exhaust testing, and a sandwich plate/core (Like Lee's) from Pro alloy. Matt has the ECU and wiring, and is hopefully either going to have them finished this week, or has already done it.

Have agreed a deal with Zircotec to coat the manifold and exhaust system as well, which is ace news. Looking forward to seeing it done - especically as they aren't insisting on white (think we'll end up with metallic black)

As ever, pictures tell a better story (though as journalist I shouldn't really be saying that...)

That's Lee's sausage fingers doing that, not me. It's not properly in place actually.

They do take a bit of fiddling to get right, mine was the same.

Most NAs have a short 'axle' through the front hub with a chuffing big nyloc on the outboard end. The pic you've posted has nothing through the hub.

Don't expect it to be a problem? Others run them? Plus all those VX's out there that pass mots with all sorts of dodgy bits lol
