Those spot calipers going to grip enoigh to pass an MOT?

Don't expect it to be a problem? Others run them? Plus all those VX's out there that pass mots with all sorts of dodgy bits lol

not sure what you could possibly be insinuating

Handbrake only has to be something like 40% of standard brake force and I suspect due to the piston size on the spot handbrake it will be more than enough. Jaguar ran spot calipers on the XJR happily

Isn't it just a bolt? (Through the front hubs) I wouldn't have thought it actually does anything except prevent dirt getting in there?...

M16 bolt and a set of specifically designed washers. It's purpose is to put the wheel bearing under the same clamping load that it would experience when fitted on a driveshaft.

The OEM bearings do not require this per-se as they are double-row ball bearings and can not be taken apart like tapered roller bearings in other cars, but the bearing races can use a little support on the front wheels when running on track a lot with stickly tyres. Keeps them in good nick longer and delays play developing.

Installation is simple. Eg.

Matt still doing the ECU, mapping, and sorting the exhaust. He'll also be involved in the Geo when we get to that stage.

the inlet cam uses the original vx220 item, or from an astra / zafira z22se engine.

I don't have any oil blanks made up, but you only need some 10mm alloy plate  thumbsup

Thought he was doing all the engine work too. Why the change of plan?

Page 3, more than two months on from last update too :ffs:

Sometimes it's all to easy to get depressed about the glacial rate of progress on this project, and the dependance on others to finish their bits before moving to the next stage.

Then I look outside, realise it's a bank holiday weekend and that someone else is paying for all my fuel and think... fcuk it

Excuse the image quality - I only had my iphone with me, not proper camera and clearly I'm no GF Williams.

Anyway, ALL engines should rev like this...

In terms of real updates, well I'm retisecent to say what's happening or might hopefully be happening to the car at the moment for fear of disappointing you as much as I am with failed deadlines and broken promises. However, I genuinely believe the mechanical aspect of this project is finally nearing completion. Then hopefully we can crack on with the bodywork etc - assuming I can get a slot back into the workshop soon enough.

In the meantime I have of course bought a few more bits. and itemised the garage of bits currently in there - some of which will be fitted to the car, and some (duplicates normally) sold. I'll list these soon.

Believe it or not, that was a happy coincidence - it was taken at the same time as the main side on pic, and was just where I parked on the drive.

Less of a happy coincidence was the fact I'd left it in raised ride at the front (on account of getting on the in-law's drive) - hence the arch-gap  :ffs:
