Was the mapper fully conversant with the ecu? I have fallen foul of that before. They said they could, but i found they where learning as they went.

Afr will be 14's at idle. Late 13's low load running to late 12's on max boost.

There leaner than what the default settings are in the dutch software.

 

what kind of extra power is made from going that lean matt and whats the downside

You want to run as close to 14.7:1 as possible in an 'ideal' world. But limitations are det and fuel/air mix (pockets of fuel rather than consistent mix throughout the chamber). Get a good combustion chamber and good mix, like on a Honda k20 for instance and some map 13's all the way through on a charged car. Go more towards 14 and they make more and more power. But run the risk of det when things change at high load (cylinder hot spots etc) The Dutch Base map is mega mega rich, was 10's a lot of the time which is silly. But safe as a Base map. You only tend to run that rich when det is a major issue and your only solution is cooling the charge with fuel to stop it. I played with ratios on Lees car on the dyno a lot, and ignition. Then the same with bills. No det and made good power, so seems to like it. You have to ask every engine what it wants, every one is slightly different especially when they have been hand flowed and might mix the air/fuel differently.
