Thank you for the kind words, both here and in the many PMs I've had. Really appreciated. Today has been a better day, the wound drain (small pipe into a collection bag) has been removed and the general anaesthetic is wearing off. The left side weakness appears to be lessening so that's a definite improvement. Looks like her PICC line will not be installed until early next week, so they will continue to use the cannula in her wrist for the IV antibiotics. Thanks again for your messages.

Not very good at updates am I!? Anyway, Alex has survived without a palm sized piece of skull since Jan this year, underwent 8 weeks of antiobiotics, administered via IV morning and night. She had to stop working/volunteering at the local school where she was helping out. Tumour still stable, no growth. She will be back in hospital soon, although were hoping to delay until after Christmas now, to have a titanium plate or composite piece of skull put back in. This uncertainty has kinda put life on hold again, but we did press on with the house extension that has lasted just over a year now, but glad its done now. It sets us up for a long time here now, without worrying if things get worse, we have scope for a downstairs bathroom should the need arise for example. Seeing Chris on a similar journey brings it home that although we have had some dark times, weve fought through them together. Were nearly at 4years since it all kicked off! Pretty crazy really. So whilst its good that shes still here 4yrs on... does that mean were 4yrs into a finite amount of time? Or does that mean were 4yrs into a journey that should get longer if/when cancer treatments improve? Thanks for your support as ever, people always ask when they see me and that helps show were not alone. :grouphug:

Lee..good news as there isnt any bad news... look at it as a bit like a repair on a hole in the sill caused by a slipping jack...

As HH says, good news that there's no more bad news. Keep in mind that cancer treatments are improving all the time, something that I am grateful for.

Time for another update. Alex has spent nearly a year with no skull bone over the tumour area. This has meant no work (she was volunteering at the local primary school) as its not exactly normal to have no skull bone. We are awaiting a date for having a plate put back in, either titanium or composite. Next scan is 12th Jan for tumour checking.
